"For any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints.
Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one.
It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more."
"It is quite an old hotel, but nature around is excellent! I have experienced some inconvenience because the showers and toilets are common on the floor, but it is inherent to all classic Japanese hotels. Anyway, the hosts were very kind and hospitality. And dinner and breakfast is above all praise! Just amazing"
"The boss is better, and the private photo tool is used to help shadow the stars and the moon. The proprietress cooks and eats really super super good food. There are fresh Wasabi, persimmon cheese, an unforgettable meal, and will stay again."
"The world oldest Ryokan and hotel is definitely worth the title. We arrived at a much later timing, 3 hours after our check-in to be precise because of detour and traffic conditions. Location wise is definitely not the easiest to reach with other transports beside driving there. However we give 5 stars because we don't it that much of a hassle to us. In terms of service, it's extremely excellent. When we arrived, we will greeted by the staffs, luggage being handled and bring to our room for us. Even though we were late for our dinner (last timing 6.30pm), the staffs was still very accommodating and arrange it for us at 6.45pm while explaining to us the facilities, rules and regulation of the place and etc. While having the dinner and breakfast, the staffs will explain each of the various dishes before we begin eating and will leave the room after explanation in order to let us enjoy. The onsen was great and definitely a must try. Everything about this place is so perfect that we will definitely go back a second time with 2 days in a row to fully enjoy and relax."
