Beautiful B&B situated on the South Side of the River Tyne in Haydon Bridge run by Lois and David. Ideally placed for all the Roman Sites nearby as well as easy access to Hexham,Corbridge,Newcastle and Carlisle. The guest house rooms are very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect from a high quality establishment. Breakfast are amazing with numerous choices all of which taste great. All in all i would recommend Shaftoe's for a great stay. If you need local info Lois knows it all. PS Bog Cart Inn 3 miles away near Langley does fab food. Try there speciality Bog Pie. So good i had it 3 times!!!.

We based ourselves at Shaftoes for 3 nights - for us it was really convenient for visiting Vindolanda, Hadrian's Wall, and Durham Cathedral. The Guest House is spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. The hosts, Lois and David, are so welcoming and informative, it felt like family. Breakfast was top quality produce, cooked to order - truly delicious. Would highly recommend Shaftoes and not hesitate to stay again if ever we're in the area.

Wonderful B&B, our room was of a very high standard, very spacious and comfortable with excellent facilities and extras such as luxury toiletries and a great selection of hot drinks. Breakfast was exceptional with such a great choice and tasted delicious. Lois was so friendly and welcoming and very helpful about the surrounding area. I can highly recommend this B&B.

Wonderful hosts who are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the property located in a quiet area with little passing traffic. Breakfast tailored to your specific request and is delicious. We will be back , for sure.

Can't fault it - from the warm welcome to the fond farewell this is a brilliant B&B. Having shown us to our spacious, comfortable & spotless room Lois brought us a tray with tea & coffee. We had great recommendations for eating out & felt nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was as good as it gets; parking is outside the front door (security camera); location is perfect for exploring the area; lots of nice touches indoors for extra comfort (eg fridge, lounge, games, etc.) It was our first visit but won't be our last because we won't find anything better.

Wow. Wow. Wow I will never anywhere else when I’m in this area. What you get is this: The whole B&B is IMMACULATE. The highest level of cleanliness. The friendliest of welcomes. Spacious and very comfortable rooms Modern, well kept shower rooms Big closet space Scrummy choice of breakfasts Facilities as expected like kettle, hairdryer free WiFi, tv etc In addition you get these cute extras: A fridge with cold bottled water to help yourself from A pot of tea/coffee on arrival in the snug A facecloth for each guest embroidered ‘make up removal’ (obviously all the white hand bath and face towels are also there) Usb sockets It’s just lovely. My new favourite

Lovely place for a quiet night away. Warmly welcomed by Lois upon our arrival, offering us a tea/coffee. Stones throw from the river and good facilities nearby, pub, chippy, coffee shop and co-op. Exceptionally clean and very cosy room. Followed by a top notch breakfast the next morning. Thank You Lois, pleasure to meet you.
