Wohlfühl-Hotel Neu Heidelberg

Location: It is located in a Dutch residential area 4 kilometers away from the center of the old city of Heidelberg, so the location is on the outskirts of the city. If you rent a car privately, it is no problem. If you want to walk out at night, don't choose this hotel. On the navigation route, we turned around several times due to road construction, and I thought we had chosen a rural area. The hotel is very cost-effective and much cheaper than the old town. The breakfast is a typical German breakfast, which is very good. The hotel is small, with only thirty or forty rooms, and the facilities are new. I thought I had chosen the wrong hotel, but when I had breakfast in the morning, I discovered that this hotel was highly booked by foreigners. There were almost no people of color. It was entirely a hotel occupied by Germans.

Positive: Polite staff Negative: Inflated description of the superior rooms with little service Real: No fridge or minibar, no kettle for tea or coffee, and no vending machine or restaurant available. Bathroom with flower arrangements, but only shower gel and shampoo, no shower cap, toothbrush or comb as disposable items, even a thin economy version of toilet paper. Restaurant only open until 10 p.m., closed on Saturday of all days. The €15.90 breakfast buffet was a total disaster: On Sunday, long before breakfast was over, there was a lonely, completely helpless waiter who could neither clear the used tables nor refill the food and dishes. A coffee machine with no cups, on a malfunction. Very little choice of food and, above all, almost empty containers. The restaurant is large, has many tables - either occupied or used, so no fresh place settings and unoccupied, around 60% of the tables! I have never had such a bad and expensive breakfast. All in all: big in the announcements, below average in service, but expensive - not recommended!

On recommendation, I booked the wheelchair room for one night over the phone. A hotel on the edge of the industrial area, a small room with a double bed, 40 cm to the left of the window and radiator and 40 cm to the right of the wall and a large bathroom, heavenly wheelchair-friendly. Even if you can't reach the toilet roll behind you, it's otherwise great. How to get to and from bed in a wheelchair? Find another hotel at 8 p.m. on a Sunday? The indignation fizzled out on an overwhelmed student on late shift, who then called the boss and got advice to simply push the beds apart and replace the large sheet with two new ones. We then made the beds. At night I need help moving, so a double bed is really the only option. Then I basically slept for 4 hours with my nose against the radiator. The negative feedback the next morning was irritating; the beds could be pushed apart without any problem. That's how it's always done. And the bathroom was so big and really great for wheelchair access. Getop with the advice that you should definitely look at the rooms beforehand to see if the space is right. Does the person recommending the room know the room? Of course, yes, and there have never been any problems. Even electric wheelchairs fit. You can simply push the beds apart without any problem. And the bathroom is so big and really great for barrier-free access. Since then I've been thinking: what's the problem, how to solve the problem without any problem, ideally before the guests arrive and the problem? If I wanted to drive from Bonn to Heidelberg to take a shower, the Neuheidelberg Wohlfühlhotel would be my first choice. And for breakfast too, the buffet leaves nothing to be desired. Or was it me, because I was too tired, too uncreative, too inflexible 😉?

Personnel très accueillant. Les chambres sont très confortables, belle salle de bain, petit déjeuner très copieux. On peut se garer gratuitement devant l'hôtel et le TRAM à 200m de l'hôtel emmène en 12 minutes dans le centre. Je recommande cet hôtel.
