The Hotel seems to be fine but in the room we got: - A thick tuft of hair lay on the floor in the bathroom. - Knob of bath tap is broken, the weathered tarnish shows it has been like this for a long time. - The shower head holder is so worn that the water pressure causes shower head to spin in all directions. Here, too, you can see signs of age. - Towel holder hangs loose and crooked. PLEASE NOTE !!! WIFI is only available in the main building. And only from breakfast until 22:00. Then the main building with reception, restaurant and bar closes. BUT that's also when ALL Wifi connections are disconnected. So early to bed then. Here Another Serious problem occurs: During the night, you constantly hear a heavy penetrating low humming sound, varying frequencies and it starts and stops about after 4 min, then a few minutes less and then it starts again. This seriously disturbs your sleep. Next to this all: The staff are very sweet, welcoming and do a tremendous job of making the guest feel comfortable. I seriously wonder what and when the manager actually does anything?!

This is a review for the hotel not the restaurant. The restaurant was great! The hotel however was very poor. There are rooms that look great, are nicer and have a balcony with a view. We didn't have those rooms. We got room 30 which was terrible. The view was of the clothes line and it didn't have a shower. A handheld shower 3 feet off the ground without a screen doesn't constitute a shower. The room was cold with the heater having to be on given the gaping gaps around the windows and doors. the unsprung mattress was terrible. Value wise, there was no value. Note no fridge in the the room either. And no parking. Not the hotels fault, but the local town drunks make a lot of noise late at night and early in the morning. Stay away from the main street so you can get some good rest.

Getting to Hell-Bourg is already a bit of an adventure on the small and winding road. The village has that nice remote feel to it. Check-in went smooth, the receptionist gave us a warm welcome. The room was simple but clean. Don't expect things like wifi. Waking up in the morning, the mountain view was stunning! We got great advice on which hike to take. We hiked to Belouve which we found quite tough but amazing. Start early because after 11 in the morning there probably will be clouds disguising the mountains. Breakfast was good and we liked the dinner. Although you should not expect a lot of luxury at this hotel, we definitely recommend it because we loved the experience.
