"The room is large, the decoration design is high-end and stylish, the hotel is in a good location, it takes 5 minutes to walk to the mall, the restaurant's dishes taste great, this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Helsinki on this trip."
"The hotel is located in the city center. It is very convenient for shopping and eating. The hotel rooms are relatively large in Europe. The overall facilities are very new. The hygiene and management are good."
"The surrounding environment is very good, and there are trams that can go directly to the city. The sauna and swimming pool rooms are small and the management is a bit poor."

"It was easily accessible from tram line 3, and it was a perfect location for sightseeing in the city as it was about a block away from the nearest stop.
There are several restaurants and cafes nearby, so you don't have to worry about eating near the hotel.
A supermarket is also nearby.
I arrived at around 8:00 to leave my luggage for the time being because I had an early morning flight, but they prepared my room right away.
The receptionists are very kind.
The rooms are very clean.
I stayed on December 14th, but there was already a lot of snow outside and the temperature was -7°C even during the day.
The room was warm and comfortable with a panel heater. I think it's hot at night.
I was able to rest quietly at night because it does not face the main street or the tram road.
Breakfast is simple and sufficient.
There were breads, yogurts, cinnamon rolls, flakes, salads, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit and more.
I would like to use it again next time."
"The hotel is in a very good location, right next to the old farmer's market. Although the breakfast items are not many, the meals are exquisite and taste great. The service staff are also very kind. The only drawback is that the room is slightly small and the facilities are relatively old."
"The hotel is in downtown Helsinki. The location is pretty good and it's very convenient to get to the city. The hotel must be a bit old, but the rooms are not too small for Europe and are relatively comfortable to stay in. The price/performance ratio is also highly recommended."
"The hotel is situated a bit further from the city center, but there is no need to worry because the public transport around the hotel is excellent and efficient. The breakfast offered is great, and while the bed is quite soft, I would prefer it to be a bit firmer for better back support. The housekeeping staff was very helpful. Overall, my stay was pleasant, and I look forward to staying at the hotel again in the future."
"location was super convenient, we were a 3 mins walk away from the Central Railway Station which connects you to other places in Helsinki quickly and efficiently. breakfast selection can be varied as we stayed for a couple of nights but the selection remained the same everyday. but overall, really enjoyed our stay! :) thank you for the amazing service provided especially at the reception where we experienced difficulties with our flight and they were kind enough to assist us throughout."
"It's quite good. It's an old 5-star hotel in Helsinki. The service is good. The room is a little small and the decoration is very Nordic. But the location is very good and it's clean. It's very good in such a prime location."
"Overall super satisfied
Environment: The location is very good. The entrance is the four-way tram 🚃. One-day tickets to the city center are available. The city center is tired and you can come back and rest before going out.
The hotel is prison style, but the decoration is very good, very beautiful, warm, there is a lockdown on the basement floor to visit, there are many photos of the previous prison in the corridor, very interesting
The bar at the front desk of the hotel is beautiful
Breakfast is particularly good, good quality and cheap, the variety is very complete, even without dumplings and vegetarian food, mango 🥭 concentrated juice is delicious, dinner and prison burger hahaha lunch is pasta buffet 13.5 euros good quality and cheap
Facilities: very complete, bathroom is not narrow, water pressure is enough, there are some
Hygienic: very clean
Service: Very enthusiastic front desk manager 🧑💼 introduced the background of the prison English has an accent but can basically understand
Cost-effective: very good in Europe, highly recommended"

Amazing
AAnonymous UserOur experience wasn't off to a good start, dealing with Jason when dropping our bags in the morning. He was borderline racist, assuming we were with the other Asian groups, making presumptions about our requests, and had difficulties understanding our requests on arranging for early to-go breakfast boxes.
But everything else during our stay was perfect hence the 5 stars. Everyone else we dealt with, including the house keepers, restaurant staff and cleaners were all great - very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is strategically located right next to the Central railway station.
The room itself was large and clean and beautifully decorated. We also tried out the facilities including sauna and cold plunge (a Finnish culture), which were top notch. The gym was also world class and properly better equipped than some other commercial gyms out there.
The other highlight was the breakfast. So many options even for vegetarians like us, all allergens clearly labelled.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's ever in Helsinki.
HheidiOverall, my recent stay with Bob W was disappointing.
I booked the 4-person penthouse room primarily for the use of the sauna on my last day of the trip.
Firstly, pin code provided was only valid for door access to the stairs, not door to the elevator side at night. This became a significant inconvenience, especially for a female traveler like myself who arrived at night after a tiring flight. Having to carry a 20kg luggage and a 10kg carry-on up five flights of stairs was both physically demanding and frustrating. Clear arrangements on how to access the elevator at night should have been considered for guest.
Secondly, check-in process was not clearly communicated, causing panic upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had to seek help from customer service on a third-party booking site and reach out via email to obtain a check-in link, which added unnecessary stress and confusion.
Furthermore, instruction for turning on the sauna were unclear, and I was unable to enjoy it until the next morning at 8am, just few hours before my checkout time. I had specifically chosen the penthouse room with the sauna for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. due to the lack of clear instructions, and had to seek assistance to figure out how to operate it properly, which ate into the limited time I had available to enjoy the amenity.
In conclusion, my stay with Bob W fell short of my expectations. The limited time to enjoy the amenities, issues during the check-in process and accessing the elevator, made for a less than satisfactory experience. I hope that Bob W seriously takes feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more enjoyable stay for travelers in the future. Thank you

Very Good
DDean MauriceWe had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well.
We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo.
The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used!
The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin.
The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception.
There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea.
We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.
YYorkshire visitingI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Valo Hotel in Helsinki, and it was an exceptional experience! The modern design and warm atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met. The amenities, including the gym and wellness area, were top-notch, providing a perfect way to unwind after a busy day of exploring the city. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to access local attractions. I highly recommend Valo Hotel Helsinki for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish stay in the heart of the city! Five stars all the way!
GGuest UserThe beds in the bedroom are behind partitions, so sunlight may not reach if you are at the end of the room. Each bed has sockets and a lamp, but it was not always easy to plug in the socket. In the evening, the kitchen can be crowded due to the large number of people.
GGuest UserConvenient location if you plan to take the viking line. Also easily accessible from city center by tram. The room is clean, and adequate amenities.

YYee11Stayed at Scandic Helsinki Aviapolis, a convenient airport hotel near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Overall, it was a good stay, ideal for transit travelers and short visits.
The hotel is just a few minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle service running every 20–30 minutes. It is also within walking distance of Aviapolis train station (about 15 minutes), making it easy to reach Helsinki city center. A major plus is the Jumbo Shopping Mall nearby, offering a variety of restaurants, shops, and a grocery store—perfect for those needing last-minute essentials or an alternative dining option.
The room was clean, modern, and functional, featuring comfortable bedding, a work desk, and a well-maintained bathroom with a walk-in shower and essential toiletries.
The breakfast buffet starts at 6 AM, offering a great selection of fresh bread, cold cuts, hot dishes, and Finnish specialties. For those with super early flights, a light breakfast is available from 4 AM.
Due to time constraints - I briefly checked out the gym and sauna in the basement which appeared well-maintained.
The staff was friendly and efficient, making check-in and check-out smooth. The overall atmosphere is modern and practical, making it a great choice for travelers catching an early flight or needing a short, comfortable stay near the airport.
GGuest UserNice location and friendly staff, and THAT’S ALL THE PROS.
GUEST WI-FI IS DOWN throughout my stay and no alternative network is available, then I missed one online meeting. BEDSIDE SOCKET IS BROKEN, making it impossible to use the phone or tablet while charging, and the ADVERTISING IS QUITE MISLEADING —I booked a single room at Trip.com, I thought it would be a room with private toilet, since nothing was mentioned in the title while other types of rooms are highlighted for the “shared bathroom”. Well, and the SOUNDPROOF can just be ignored.
Maybe ‘Hostel’ is better for the name.

GGuest UserThe distance is very close. There is no self-service check-in. The environment is not bad. There are shared bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens. You need to bring your own ingredients. The price is high and it is only about 1.5 kilometers away from Vantaa Airport. It is very cost-effective for those who want to travel for a short time or transfer. It's like living in a semi-forest! The heater is not very warm and the temperature is a bit low. I don’t know if the cold spot will be higher!
The average price for hotels in Helsinki is AED 977 on weekdays, and AED 1,034 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
