In my experience, negatrive Tripadvisor reviews are often a reflection of the customer's particular experience or specific issues rather a comprehensive overview of a hotel. This hotel, however, is the exception: it is an overall terrible experience and should be avoided if at all possible. There are many good alternatives in Hendaye and the region which I recommend researching. Almost all of the staff we interacted with did not seem interested in the quality of our stay but instead focused of reprimanding (!) us for a simple quries or pointing out to a litany of rules of the hotel. We did not feel welcome during our stay and would never return.

I wanted to thank the staff at Ibaia as they were so lovely with us during our stay. One day at breakfast they had run out of bacon, my children were disappointed but within less than 10 minutes they brought out a large bowl just for them. Also, a huge thank you to Barbara who is just the most wonderful receptionist. She made us feel so welcome. My children loved her so much. This was our second stay here in the residences. It’s beautiful since the renovations.

Parked on the street and went into reception to check out secure parking. Receptionist was friendly and chatty. Allocated room 209. Secure parking was easy, just drive in past reception to the garage, swipe your room card and the door opens. Easy access to the room via the lift. Perfect as we had our 2 dogs with us. The room was spotless and cosy with a lovely view of the harbour and pool. Very comfortable bed but tv is not a smart TV so couldn't screen share from my phone. Strange as the hotel has just been refurbished and everything is new. Wifi is free and good. Lovely hot rain shower and quality toiletries. Unfortunately the coffee machine didn't work. No bar or restaurant. They do serve breakfast but we didn't partake. £111 for the night including dogs and parking, very good value. Will stay again.

We were welcomed by friendly staff on the front desk who also were helpful during our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable with a view of the marina. They served a good buffet breakfast. The pool was very nice especially on a hot day There was parking underground. I really couldn't fault hotel Ibaia it was ideally situated and reasonable. Definitely recommend.

L'hôtel mérite-t-il 4 étoiles ? Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, le monsieur nous a dit que le stationnement était « impossible », mais nous avions réservé une place dans le garage. Finalement, il nous a dit que c'était bon. Nous avons été déçus par le balcon qui était tres petit et la vu du balcon n'était pas au top. Le bar n'est ouvert qu'en juillet et août ! Le petit déjeuner était bon. Mais prenez le jus d'orange de la machine qui presse les oranges. Le jus d'orange dans le bocal était mauvais, mais ils l'ont changé quand ils l'ont su. L'hôtel mérite-t-il 4 étoiles ?

Propreté limite, que ce soit la chambre ou les couverts du petit déjeuner. N’a pas le service d’un 4 étoile, dommage, le lieu et la vue sont superbes. Nous avons eu 2 soins en thalassothérapie, top, accueil agréable, mais lieu vieillissant. ..

L'hôtel a quelques attraits, mais son petit déjeuner laisse à désirer et son service est un digne d'un hôtel de 2 étoiles. Par exemple, après être resté dans cet hôtel durant cinq jours et n'avoir utilisé aucun de ses services, le réceptionniste nous a informé que nous ne pouvions pas y remettre les pieds pour y utiliser la douche après avoir quitté les lieux, même si ce n'est quelques minutes après notre départ. Autre exemple, nous avons eu une réaction extrêmement négatif et des réprimandes après avoir demandé à accéder à notre chambre après y avoir oublié notre clé. Ce sont deux exemples; il y'en a beaucoup d'autres. La seule exception que nous voudrions noter est le service exceptionnel de Mlle Marie.
