Tons of investment by local investors has transformed this inn to be by far the best and most sophisticated “pub” in the area. I’m nearly 70, so it’s very rare I write “this was the best I’ve ever had”. But the chef here knocks out superlatives. I had the best Sunday lunch out I’ve ever had - incredible sirloin of beef, perfectly cooked, huge Yorkshire pud, wonderful red wine gravy, and so many veg ( including the cauliflower cheese to die for) that I couldn’t finish them all. 3 nights later I stayed there in a most beautiful room, and I had dinner. I have travelled to many hundreds of places, so I test and mark them on a staple. Caesar Salad. This was truly the best I’ve ever had. The flavour of the char-grilled chicken was so intensely fantastic! Go there! Stay there! The breakfast is also awesome. Brilliant atmosphere - wonderful service

A fantastic place to stay ! Beautifully designed, exquisite interiors , rooms amazing …. Just fabulous !! We stayed there the night and ate at the restaurant, food was lovely but rather expensive but it didn’t put us off. I would definitely stay there again as it was so lovely

We were staying in nearby Peterstow over the Easter weekend, which also happened to be our wedding anniversary. We booked into the New Inn as it was 10 minutes away & had great reviews. Simply blown away by the quality of the food...! We opted for the 7 course set menu (without wine flight) - everything was simply & elegantly presented and fantastically delicious. At the end of the meal we tried to pick a 'favourite' course/dish... and simply couldn't! From the 'snacks' to start through to the banana bread soufflé to finish, everything was delicious and on a par with the food we've had at Michelin-starred restaurants (or those with chef's who trained at starred restaurants). Coupled with the unpretentious, relaxing surroundings and friendly, enthusiastic staff this was a truly memorable meal for all the right reasons. Just a shame it's not closer to home!

The sort of place you always hope to find but so rarely do. Warm welcome, bright, airy, well-appointed rooms, excellent dinner and breakfast. One thing only: the reviewer who mentioned the traffic noise has a point. The inn is on a crossroads: the main road does have fast-travelling traffic. Anyone who is very sensitive to traffic noise should probably stay clear.

Instantly greeted by the lovely hostess, after myself realising I’d booked the wrong month for our stay here the hostess checked availability and offered us a room they had to offer (The Fox) We were amazed by the building and how well modern comforts have been installed while keeping the buildings heritage and character. The food is amazing and lots of lovely wines on offer to complement any meal. Again the hostess was great and has so much knowledge to aid in any choices and even let us try a wine we’d never heard of before (orange wine, it’s lovely and we ended up getting a bottle!) We’re already organising our next stay here when we return to the area. An unbeatable stay to complement any holiday in the Hereford / Ross on Wye area

What a wonderful place, beautiful, comfortable and relaxing both inside and out. Fantastic staff and wonderful food. I am Coeliac, If I get a choice of 2 meals off the menu I am lucky. Not here, loads of choices, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious, and, don't get me started on the bread, GF bread cooked in house and the best I have ever had. Staff knowledge of ingredients and dietary requirements was exceptional. But, what about our room? Simply stunning, spotless and comfortable. If you want to feel spoilt, stay here.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, lovely personal touches to the room and really kind and attentive staff. Food was also delicious. However I wouldn’t stay here again because it is just so noisy. It is based on a 40mph road and the windows are only single glazed so you ear vehicles whizzing by constantly. They provide ear plugs so they know it is an issue, but I just wish I’d have been made aware. If it was quieter it would have been true luxury and worth the £160 it cost, but because of the incessant noise, it wasn’t worth it and I wouldn’t stay again.

We absolutely loved the New Inn. The staff are lovely, the food was out of this world, plenty of drink options, clean and nicely decorated, plenty of parking, powerful shower, large outdoor seating area, the room was very spacious and comfortable. If i had to give a con the only thing i can think of is that it was a bit loud at night due to the property being right on the road but this is nothing to do with the hotel itself and the room even had some complimentary earplugs already in the room so they really do think of everything. All the little caring touches really go a long way.
