Our experience visiting Forte Rose resort for the afternoon from boat in Montenegro was bittersweet. The setting was undeniably breathtaking, offering some of the most magnificent and charming views I've ever witnessed. The location was truly majestic, with a backdrop of some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. I initially questioned the bartender whether the resort was open to the public, as it exuded an exclusive atmosphere. The bartender was exceptionally kind and accommodating, assuring us that we were welcome. However, our interactions with the maître d' left much to be desired. Despite the availability of numerous tables for four, he seated each couple separately, which seemed unnecessary. A disappointing aspect of our visit was the limited menu and the unavailability of the items we wished to order. To make matters worse, my food never arrived, but it was still included on the bill. When I inquired about my missing order, the maître d' simply informed me that the meal I had requested was no longer available. This interaction left a bitter taste in my mouth, and it became increasingly difficult to enjoy the beautiful setting with such a seemingly unpleasant and unaccommodating individual attending to us. I made a concerted effort to maintain a cordial and friendly demeanor, even though the maître d' appeared disinterested in providing good service. I had hoped to win him over with kindness, but after he informed me that my chosen meal wasn't available, I found myself increasingly disheartened. In the end, it's regrettable that this unpleasant encounter marred what could have been one of the most memorable and beautiful dining venues of our 31 years of marriage. Despite the stunning surroundings, the behavior of the maître d' left a lasting negative impression. I’ve never encountered such a major display of rudeness, and I sincerely wish our visit had been free from this unfortunate encounter.
