Hotel de Zalm

The stuff and the owner of the hotel are very friendly and helpfull. I could park my bike in a save place. My room was clean and qiuet. The breakfast in Carmel is excellent like the year before. I will come back next year. I came in the Zalm since many years.

The lighting is very poor in the room, also lack of sockets. I had wifi signal only on one corner of the bed. Staff was friendly and everything was clean. Good location. The lighting of stairs is really poor. The windows should have mosquito nets.

the bed feels like rubber. there was no lamp, socket or switch straight. the shower could not stay at a temp for longer then 30 sec. there was no vetilation so when i showred the whole room was coverd in damp. the reception was really nice would not recommend

Very stinking environment. Very loud due construction next to the hotel. Stuff is friendly and rooms are clean. Rooms are worn and not that great for the price. Stayed there for 3 nights and it was a mess. The location inside Herentals are great.

This were one of the pourest stays I have had in Europe. The hotel itself is rather pour but the ownership is below criticism. The hotel director, who work himself at the reception now and then, had an bad attitude all the time. Rude as in Fawlty Towers but without the fun of it. He refused to help us to get an early breakfast when we had a train to catch at seven o´clock though the staff started with breakfast at six. (We just asked for a yoghurt and maybe some coffe and bread.) The manager himself didn´t tell us that there they he is building his hotel bigger at our stay. That caused a crazy lot of noise, starting from 6.30 am, and did go on the rest of the day. No redused prices for that inconvenience. Other small things: The light in the stairs were very poor. The is no aircondition. The towels were old and frayed The sheets also old and were ripped to pieces two times at night. Totally a disaster!!!! Rent at airbnb instead!!!

Good location close to the Grote Markt. But low standard rooms with old torn sheets and towels. No air conditioning. Very unhelpful and arrogant staff. Herentals is a peaceful and friendly town with many nice buildings. But find another hotel!
