I highly recommend staying at a hotel in Asahikawa during your visit. The outdoor onsen offers a stunning view and is quite lovely. The buffet food is good, though a wider variety would be appreciated. I rented a cottage this time, which was spacious and allowed for convenient cooking during my stay.

The most satisfying and favorite hotel in the entire Hokkaido trip! The snow scenery is so beautiful, the outdoor pool is so dreamy, and it's the first time I've enjoyed walking barefoot in the snow! The room is very large and spacious, and the open-air bath is so beautiful that I don't want to check out. And it includes a Kaiseki meal, which is really cost-effective!

The best hotel in Hokkaido! 1400RMB for one night and two meals, shuttle bus picks up at Asahikawa JR Station at 1615, and drops off at Asahikawa Airport (departs from hotel at 1030, arrives at airport at 1050, just in time to catch Jetstar Airways to Tokyo), evening set menu is Japanese with 20 dishes, similar to Kaiseki cuisine. See attached yellow menu for serving dishes. In the morning, there is a buffet of 20 kinds of Japanese food, of course, there are also a small amount of Western bread, desserts, and fruits.
The hot spring is natural and free to use for guests staying in the hotel. The service is very good, divided into male and female baths. It was a really good hot spring hotel. The location is a bit out of the way, but the indoor facilities and friendly staff were great. I think it would be a good idea to request breakfast and dinner. The large bath and open-air bath were really nice.

I stayed at Hanakagura Onsen Hotel during the snowy season. I was healed the moment I stepped into the lobby! The open-air bath outside the window was steaming hot, and the outline of the snow-capped mountains in the distance was looming like an ink painting. The private bath room made entirely of cypress wood was amazing! Who knows the happiness of eating sashimi in a yukata while wearing a heated tatami and eating food?
