Very happy with my stay at Movenpick hobart from 18-21/01/25 (Sat to Tue) for AU$606 - the rate (20% off for diamond tier) is even better than their end of year sale via official website as an ACCOR member (15% off)
Since other's reviews of classic rooms seem depressing as there is no view at all.....thus I booked a superior room with city view. However being allocated to room 403 on the 4/F .....instead of full length windows as per promotional pics.....my window is relatively less impressive. Also there is a high pitch wheezing sound from the corridor......but the sound has gone once we open our door..... hopefully I can have a better room above 5/F next time. Chocolate hours and the day bed in the room are something that we liked most, not much interaction with staff so hard on their hospitality....but on the day of check in around 3pm, a cleaning staff just entered and shocked to see us inside. She thought the room needs to be clean hopefully not making her scared

Stayed 4 nights. I was lucky to get a room on the 15 floor facing the mountain views, away from the noisy clock tower. Room is spacious and clean and I love that the TV has Chromecast. Location is fantastic. Less than 5 minutes walk from the skybus pick up and drop off location (opposite Travel and Info Centre, stop number 3), the brook street pier, and easily walkable to many other attractions and plenty of food option around the hotel! Really friendly concierge staff and I appreciate that they brought my luggage up to the room once it was ready.

Great hotel in downtown area, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Get a higher floor room for a beautiful view of the harbor and cruise ships docking in Hobart.

Hotel is ok, not a value for money, for the rates I’m paying, there are other hotels which offer the same. One thing that must be said, parking is a hassle, the hotel charges A$35 per day, starts from checking in to when you check out. Only valet parking, one can probably do the parking yourself around the hotel and may even cheaper. But the worst is they informed you that to get the car it will take 25 minutes. In my first time to pick the car, it actually took them almost 40 minutes, so if you’re in a hurry take the Uber, you’ve probably arrive at the destination.
Just don’t know why most hotels in the West, and Australia and NZ included, just can’t be compared to those in Asia in terms of values for money, services and quality of the hotels. It’s probably people over here has lower expectations. In most cases I’d discount their ratings on google and would specifically look for reviews by Asian person.

Conveniently located in the heart of Hobart CBD, close to everything, the harbour is just a short walk away, the tourist information centre is also just 3 minutes walk away, ideal for day tour pick up. The restaurant down stairs offers amazing food and dining experience. Our room is an interior room with no view though, facing a concrete wall.
