This place is not worthy of 5 starts at all, I cannot understand how it is being advertised as an excellent lodge. It is a family owned lodge whereby Colleen manages the whole place and her husband Chris is the maintenance man. I went on a 10 hour safari organised by them and barely saw any animals as the “professional driver” was only on the main roads and the tour wasn’t booked with a professional safari company. I only saw a few elephants and giraffes in the last 2 hours of the tour after I complained. I paid so much money to come to South Africa from Sydney Australia and was extremely let down by the service and experiences offered by this lodge. Everything was below average and the location is horrible. Colleen tried to compensate only at the very end of my trip but does not know how to run a business as she is more concerned with saving money than making her guests happy.

I can’t even begin to explain how HORRIBLE my experience was with this “luxury lodge”. The amount of money that me and my family paid to stay here was well over the price of the actual lodge. We had booked with an external tour company which organised this hotel and assured us we would be staying at luxury lodges inside the actual national parks like Kruger & Manyeleti. We were 45 MINS away from the main road and over an hour away from the national parks. The whole lodge is in the middle of what is like a park in a fenced gated community with a few other lodges nearby in the same gated area. Management is extremely stingy. Room number 3 which me and my sister stayed in is all the way at the end of the lodge (only 4 rooms in total) and has NO RECEPTION AT ALL. We didn’t have any hot water either. The dirty towels that we used would be re-folded and left there. No fresh towels were given to us once used. We had to ask for everything. All in all this experience has been extremely disappointing. Don’t waste your money coming here.

This 5-star lodge near Kruger National Park is family run and that means they really get to know their guests, delivering exemplary, personalized service with a smile. The lodge and accommodations are spacious and beautifully decorated and the food deserves special mention being made by an on-site chef who focuses on fresh, local ingredients and customizes to your preferences. Ask for the all inclusive package and you don't have to worry about airport transfers, food, laundry, drinks or activities. It's all included. Every member of our family including teens and adults alike just loved their stay here.

I’ve just finished 4 days at Kusudalweni and it was up there with one of the finest getaways I’ve experienced anywhere in the world. What sets Kusudalweni apart was the impeccable service at every moment. All of the staff have gone above and beyond and created an incredible stay at a fantastic lodge. The food, activities and facilities were flawless.

Fantastic!!! My husband and I spent 3 nights there. Everything from the resort, private chalet, food, drinks and staff etc was wonderful with nothing to do but just relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. We couldn’t fault anything. We have stayed for the 6 day package at this location and had a holiday of a lifetime. They helped arrange a location for my boyfriend to propose offering various options and couldn’t be more helpful with every aspect of the trip. We felt very safe and relaxed with all guided tours which picked us up and dropped us off back at the lodge where we did various safaris and sight seeing. All the staff was very friendly and helpful including the owner who was staying there at the time. Couldn’t recommend highly enough, also the food was delicious.

This was an amazing small resort which caters to your every need. There were only 5 luxurious villas which were very intimate. We loved the food and the bar was nicely stocked. We enjoyed the pool and our private hot tub. The guides were knowledgeable on Safari. The activities were fun. Everyone in our group age 67 to age 9 had a great time. Dominic and Sam were lovely hosts.

Amazing atmosphere and staff. They will cater to whatever you need, and the food options were terrific each day. On a hot day, the pool is extremely refreshing. The bar is basically open for whatever drinks you wish. Would absolutely do a return visit.
