Hotel Sun Hofu

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the venue of "Saba River Koinagashi", a famous Golden Week event in Yamaguchi. There are also many supermarkets such as "Yumetan", convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and Hofu Tenmangu Shrine is also about a 5-minute drive away, making it a very convenient location. The shared large bath is open until 2am at night and 5am in the morning, which is also appreciated. There is also a rest area for after the bath, and I enjoyed the recently opened manga corner to kill time. I was satisfied with the functionality of the hotel as a business hotel, such as microwaves, coin laundry and free parking, but it cannot be denied that the exterior and facilities are old-fashioned and Showa retro. The rooms were also clean and had the minimum necessary facilities, which was nice, but I was shocked by the strong cigarette smell that wafted from the floor and the room, which was my fault for booking a smoking room (I don't smoke, but was persuaded by the low price of the room). There was an air purifier in the room, but even if I left it on all night and sprinkled deodorant on it, the smell still got on my luggage and clothes. So, if you don't like cigarettes, I recommend not choosing a smoking room, no matter how cheap the accommodation fee is. Other than that, I had a comfortable stay.

It was a good enough hotel for a short stay. I appreciated the low price and the breakfast included. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

There was a large public bath where I was able to relax and relieve my fatigue. There was also a sauna and cold bath, so I was able to refresh myself. The free washing machines and dryers were appreciated! The parking lot was also free, which was nice. The hotel staff were also very kind and left a good impression!

Perhaps because there were few female guests, we had the large public bath to ourselves, which was appreciated. However, it was unfortunate that we couldn't use the sauna because it was out of order. I'd definitely stay here again.
