With a stay at Allegheny Trail House in Frostburg, you'll be a 5-minute walk from Frostburg Library and 6 minutes by foot from Palace Theater. This bed & breakfast is 0.3 mi (0.5 km) from Frostburg Depot - Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and 0.4 mi (0.7 km) from Thrasher Carriage Museum. Enjoy recreation amenities such as bicycles to rent or take in the view from a garden. Additional amenities at this bed & breakfast include complimentary wireless internet access, a picnic area, and barbecue grills. Guests can get around on the shuttle (surcharge), which operates within 175 miles. A complimentary full breakfast is included. Featured amenities include express check-out and laundry facilities. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle during limited hours and a train station pick-up service. Treat yourself to a stay in one of the 4 guestrooms, featuring fireplaces. This two bedroom house is situated on a 1.3 acre lot, located right off Maryland 51. This house was built in the 1960's and its age is still evident in features like the original hardwood flood. Much of the interior has been updated and we are excited to offer the house to you as our guests. You will have the property to yourself. Guests have access to the entire main floor. Enjoy the yard surrounding the house as well. The basement and detached garage are not available for guest use at this time. The kitchen, with all new appliances, has been stocked with the basic things (pots, pans, utensils, etc) you need to cook a meal. If you prefer to go out for meals there are a couple small town options, a favorite being the subs from Millstone Country Store just 4 miles up the road and lots more options in the Cumberland area, about 20 minutes away. There is a small workspace in the second bedroom for those working away from home. There is Starlink internet access to keep you connected during your stay. You're welcome to enjoy the fire pit area in the backyard. Firewood and kindling are provided. If you need to do laundry, we can allow access to the washer and dryer upon special request. We enjoy hosting guests who are biking on the towpath. The Oldtown access point is just a couple miles from our house, but there is a busy road without much of a shoulder between the access point and our house. Please feel free to message me about shuttle and food options. No smoking of any kind is permitted anywhere on the property. So whether you're just passing through or in the area to explore local attractions, this is a great resting spot. The Paw Paw tunnel, historic downtown Cumberland, C&O canal towpath, and more are all located within 15 miles. There's hiking, biking, canoeing, and fishing options within a few miles of the house or stay at the house and enjoy a quiet getaway. There's a few books, games, and a roku tv for your use. The tv will be guest mode to allow you to login to any of your subscriptions and conveniently choose a date on which you will be logged out. Located on Main St in the utterly charming town of Frostburg, MD our spot will give you access to all of the best parts of Frostburg. With four separate bedrooms encompassing 7 beds, this massive property sleeps 13; added to that are two kitchens, two full bathrooms, and plenty of living space. We've designed this as an escape, perfectly curated to allow you the ample crafting time you've been missing in your daily life.The Knit Inn is the epitome of central, the trail is just down the hill, the Palace (our local movie theater) is just up the hill (everything here involves a hill). Some of my other top downtown favorites are the best little local book store of all time, an Italian bakery, a chocolatier, and an apothecary. You'll love it here.Main Street Books - Huge book store with a wonderful selection of gifts. Go here if you need to find something to bring home.Lorenzo's - This charming bakery carries an array of Italian baked goods. My particular favorites are the chocolate chocolate sandwich cookies, apple bread, and blueberry donuts.Clatter - If you're a person who really loves coffee, ignore all of the other coffee spots in town and head here. Bonus points, the interior is as beautifully curated as the menu.Cauldron Vintage - Michelle, the proprietor has an eye. Her prices are also stellar. Go buy yourself a new pair of pants - vintage denim is in.Princess - On it's 4th generation owner, this local staple is like stepping back in time. You can even sit in the booth President Truman ate in! This place is the supreme king of diner food; their milkshakes were absolutely the culprit for my excessive pregnancy weight gain, lol.Dig Deep - The second location for our local Cumberland brewery, this place is downright cool. Go for the ambiance, have a flight, and give their food a shot (it's surprisingly awesome). If you're here over a weekend, check out their listing of shows. They've always got great bands playing.zFrostburg is a really quaint small town and totally walkable. The ice cream shop on the way out of town is less than a mile away, and that's the farthest business from us. That being said, we are a town in the mountains, and everything requires a hill. You'll survive it, but you might be a little winded.Main Street parking is readily available, but you can't leave your car on the street all night long.
