We spent 4 days at the inn. The property is beautiful, with superb views. Our room was spacious, clean and with lovely view. The host was wonderful and prepared a lovely spread each morning for breakfast. And she was super friendly too! We would love to visit again some time.

We were in Hawaii for 2 weeks staying at 3 different places. Luana was the first stay and we wanted to just stay there the whole time. It’s a beautiful inn. Tori the innkeeper is outstanding. Her cooking skills are off the charts. We met such fun people during our stay, convening each evening at the pool for sunset. I love this place. 🌺

We stayed with our friends in the Ohana Cottage Suites. We can't say enough about the beauty of the property, the cleanliness and comfort of the suites, the quiet and the views. Tory, our host, was so welcoming and each morning provided the most amazing breakfasts. We are locals to the Big Island so know when a place on the island is exceptional. We will be back!

Lack of response, no call back and poor customer service. Very disappointed in my experience. Don’t recommend unless you’re feeling like getting cheated out of your money. I’ve reached out to their customer via phone call multiple times no call back and none of my messages returned. Think it’s odd you have to make special request to bring children under 15 to stay at this place and wait for approval. I don’t recommend if you’re traveling with a family to stay here.

I thoroughly enjoyed my peaceful stay at the Luana Inn. A pool and hot tub are super important to me and when I read that they are naturally treated for cleanliness I was sold. Also the fact that chemical type cleaners etc are not used in general was a plus. The view from the pool area and the entire property was even more beautiful than I had expected. I was meeting up with friends for the remainder of my trip so it was nice coming from the mainland to chill for a couple days beforehand and acclimate to island life! The innkeepers Carol and Kevin were incredibly hospitable and a pleasure to meet. I understand that breakfast is going to be offered starting June 1st. I was lucky enough to be the sampler of a few delicious creative breakfasts that Carol prepared for me. Please see photos! This is a wonderful choice for guests that are looking for relaxed peaceful environment away from busy Kona town. Many Mahalos for a wonderful experience! Cooleen

I usually don’t write bad reviews but I am making an exception here. I want to be fair so I am writing a long and detailed review. Bottom line is we did not feel welcomed here and I do not recommend this B&B / inn. Location (3 stars)The gps had trouble finding the location the first time but worked well thereafter. It was a 5 or 10 minute drive to the shore. Restaurants were 15+ minutes away and most restaurants were closed by 4-6 pm. We did find a good Chinese restaurant Ono with good food but no atmosphere. Property (3 stars but would have been 5 if better maintained). The property is gated and we called the number provided and Marina opened the gate remotely. After parking the car we looked around for about 10 minutes before we found the lobby. No greeting at all. It would have been nice if Marina came out to greet us when we did not find her more quickly. When we met her and told her our difficulty she said didn’t you read our email. Not very accommodating. There was a remote in the room to open the gate and we kept it in the car. It worked well. However the entry code supplied on the email for keypad entry was incorrect and would not open the gate when entered on the keypad. When we got back at 7 pm one evening and 9 pm on a different evening all the lights were out on the property and lobby. It was pitch black and it was very hard for us to navigate our way to our room. We were the only guests there at the time. The room. (3 stars) Our room was facing the pool with a large glass door which was also the entry door. The air conditioning was not on so the room was very hot. The air conditioner was a small unit located high up at the ceiling so I had to step on a chair to turn it on. It was quite loud and was just adequate in cooling the room. The room was nice but full of little ants all over the counters and bathroom. The electric outlet on my side of the bed was about 5 feet away so bring a 10’ cord if you want to stay plugged in while laying down. There was a coffee maker. We had to take the toaster, paper towels, dish towel, etc from the next room (unoccupied) as it was not supplied in our room. There is no desk so I used my laptop on the dressing table. All in all the room was not really satisfactory as it was full of ants. Pool (5 stars)The pool area was drop dead gorgeous. The pool was very nice and there was a sauna and jacuzzi which we did not use. The foliage was amazing. Breakfast. (1 star) Upon arrival, Marina told us breakfast would be ready for us in the kitchen each morning. Breakfast was a very large bowl of oatmeal with a sliced banana and a small amount of frozen fruit on top. There was no milk in the frig to add to the oatmeal and could not find sugar. I got sugar from an unoccupied room as we did not have in our room. There was no coffee made in the kitchen either. We wanted to eat in the pool area and there was a table there which we had breakfast at every day. We carried our ‘breakfast’ down the stairs

Our fourth time staying at the Luana Inn. We stay in one of the 2 units in the separate structure in the back as one has a full kitchen as well as an outdoor grill. The units are sufficiently furnished, clean, and have good wifi, The only minor negatives are the living room couches aren't very comfortable and the lighting way too bright. The pool is beautiful, the hot tub next to it works well and the views from those areas are expansive. There is a shower at the pool area that we use instead of the one in the unit as who doesn't want a full ocean view when showering. You can't ask for a better location and you don't generally need the A/C to run while you sleep.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Luana Inn. The grounds are gorgeous and the hosts (Carol and Kevin) are so welcoming, helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Ala'ula suite which had everything that we needed -- an amazingly comfortable king-size bed, adequate kitchen, lovely outdoor lanai and wifi. We will definitely return!
