Because I knew what I was expecting with the only room amenities being wifi and a fan, I was not disappointed. For future guests, this is a YMCA residence, not a hostel or motel.
The building is older but it’s easy to get around from your room to the front desk.
I actually preferred the no alcohol policy of the establishment because I’m in recovery (almost 6 years sober!).
Just be prepared for a humid, hot night with a fan to cool you down. The only AC that I was shown was in sort of a day room area which was always open.

Clean and tidy! Shared shower and toilet! Cheap! 5 minutes away from the beach! 10 minutes from the city center! Very convenient for shopping! Must drive! Three days around the island, basically visited every attraction.

I am Japanese. No air conditioning, toilet, shower room or TV in the room. Dirty shared toilet. There are only two dirty shower rooms, no detergent provided, and the floor is filthy.
The window is broken and doesn't close.
I made a reservation for three days, but I reached my limit on the first night and changed hotels.
If you want to enjoy Hawaii properly, I don't recommend it at all. Trip.com should not recommend hotels like this.
