This little hotel is an absolute gem! Tucked away along the coast, once you enter the gated premises, you feel like you are home (away from home). The manager met us upon arrival, showed us to our room and gave a brief orientation. Not too much, not too little. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable; with all the luxuries of home. The sheets, pillows, towels, robes, coffee maker, etc made it a perfect visit for our 5 night stay. Make sure you take part in the dinners. Abby is amazing, creative and accommodating (we avoid sugar and gluten).

First and foremost, the staff is incredible. Val could not have been more helpful and welcoming, and Chef Abby's dinner and Hope's cocktails were the best we had on the Island — including the meals we had at the Four Seasons! They all went out of their way to create a special experience for us, and we are so grateful. We also really appreciated our lovely room and the amazing setting/view. Hamakua Hotel is a really special place and we would go back in a heartbeat!

The location can not be beaten. The staff is five-star and friendly. We felt like this was our estate and were treated as such. The owner Eric was extremely inviting. condition of this place is 5-star. My wife and I will definitely be back. OUSTANDING EXPERIENCE!
