So…….What makes this hotel so special? The food is delicious , varied and plentiful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and most have an amazing sea view. The bar and lounge areas are warm and inviting, and offer lovely areas in which to relax. But what truly makes The Cottage Hotel so special is the staff. Every one of them. Under the guidance and management of Sarah, William and Neil, the people who work there are setting standards of old fashioned manners and hospitality that are rarely seen today. Every guest is made to feel so special and so welcome. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you

This lovely hotel has a awesome position overlooking Hope Cove, the view is spectacular and ever changing. From start to finish Neil and his team made us feel welcomed and nothing was too much trouble, we were delighted by the politeness and the whole ambiance of the place. Our room although not massive, was large enough and very clean and functional, with a seating balcony and fantastic views. The breakfast was well cooked and was proper tasty food, we also endulged in an afternoon tea which was amazing and very filling, I would say it was overall good value when you look at other prices in the area? This hotel is not pretentious like some of the fishy/crab type places around, it is what it is, honest and homely. It would be fair to say the clientele are mostly of a certain age and are not taking time off work! But as a couple in our early 60's that suits us. We will definitely be back, and are already looking at availability? To sum up I would say if you need a homely place that feels like a warm hug, this hotel delivers.

In its iconic location up above the sea The Cottage is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of Devon. Hope Cove is a family friendly place with two lovely beaches and others nearby. Sarah and William and the team at the Cottagewere very welcoming and our room (one of the newly decorated in the new part of the hotel was stunning). Most rooms have balconies and are real sun traps. The terrace overlooking the sea is one of our favourite places for a drink and lunch is excellent value. The Cottage is a very special, family run place with the charm of a bygone era. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

I was treated to a long weekend with my wife and dogs down at the Cottage Hotel in Hope Cove. We had a first floor room with a balcony and views over both bays. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, bath/shower en-suite and a balcony with chairs and a small table. The room was very comfortable and I only wish we'd have had more time to enjoy the views and sunsets. We had booked for evening meals and breakfasts in the hotel and we were so pleased. The quality of the food was exceptional and I can highly recommend the 5 course dinners. The bar was excellent too with prices the same or cheaper than the local pubs. An absolute bonus to find a hotel that would allow guests to leave dogs in their bedroom while the owners had dinner/breakfast. The staff were so friendly and professional, I was actually a little sorry to leave. I can't believe this is only a 3 star hotel.

The Cottage is a GEM, with something for everyone. The staff are really well trained and lead by very hands-on management where nothing seems to be too much trouble. A true family business at its best.

A group of friends who are single, socialise during the year and like to get together and go away. We find it's the perfect venue! The restaurant offers a good selection of food types which we all appreciate.
