This stop for us was a unique experience and pleasant surprise with Ragnar who owns and runs his humble little farm and AirB&B on the Golden Circle. Our hearts went out to this single man giving us such detailed attention. I was merely impressed with him building these guesthouses from the ground up and running this place by himself. Accommodations were very nice and clean and the breakfast was icing on the cake. I would make it a point to stop here overnight if I'm ever in his neck of the woods, or should I say, in his neck of Iceland.

This was a beautiful accommodation that had an OVEN! We could buy some lamb in the stores in Hofn and cook it in the oven. The views outside were wonderful and the apartment was spotless. There was a deck space but it was too cold to sit outside. This apartment was a little more expensive than others, however, breakfast was included. I liked the entryway where you could take off shoes, coats, etc.

Lon Guesthouse is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it was in a good location for our trip between Höfn and Studlagil Canyon. We stayed in the family apartment that used to be a storage room. The host, Ragnar, welcomed us to the guesthouse and provided a simple breakfast the next day. Ragnar is the person who put up the red chair that is featured in many local photos. When I booked Lon Guesthouse I didn’t know what to expect because there were only two TripAdvisor reviews. My concerns were unfounded as there are dozens of glowing entries in Ragnar’s visitor book so he is a pro at handling guests and the accommodations are excellent.

Host molto gentile ci ha atteso all’arrivo chiedendoci a che ora volessimo la colazione. Appartamento curato nei minimi dettagli, prese elettriche ovunque. Letto comodissimo, cuscini in più rispetto ai posti letto, apprezzatissimi. Bagno comodo, doccia grande. La struttura è davvero molto bella e regala un panorama splendido. Lo consiglio assolutamente.
