Tottington Manor Hotel

We visited this restaurant with friends. I'm an avid Malbec lover but to be honest the bottle we ordered wasn't fantastic but reasonably priced as far as restaurant prices go. The starter was not fantastic either to be honest, I'm trying to find something positive to say about it. I had the beetroot and goats cheese salad. There were very few pieces of beetroot and three or four whipped, piped blobs of goats cheese and some tapenade which I couldn't even taste. My main was the seafood board which on the menu sounded delicious and quite huge but in reality was very disappointing. The seafood stew literally contained about three muscles in their shells a couple of clams and a couple of bits of chorizo, but no other fish that I could find and was served in a tiny bowl with no finger bowl or anywhere to put empty shells. There were two King prawns with their shells on which were lovely, a piece of sourdough which looks like the pre-sliced stuff you can get from the supermarket and some chunky chips which again were tasteless. The tempura hake was not what I would call tempura. It was thick and greasy, I could've rung it out to be honest! So I took the fish out of the batter and ate that. It just was very average to be honest, bland in taste uninspiring in presentation. I didn't bother with dessert and was pleased I didn't as two of our friends did and they just didn't look appetising at all. Even the coffee wasn't good. It's a shame because on paper the menu reads well. The staff were perfectly pleasant, but one of them clearly didn't even know which meat one of our friends had ordered when she delivered it to the table, they need a little more training.

Wonderful dinner and had a real fuss made of us as it was our wedding anniversary. Got married here 3 years ago and staff always wish us a happy anniversary and we were treated to complimentary glass of champagne. Thank you so much. The venue always makes us happy and the food was delicious

Had an excellent stay at Torrington Manor. Staff were really friendly and helpful- Mollie, the restaurant manager, even lent us her own board games. Dinner was superb. Accommodation very comfortable. Overall highly recommend. We will be back!

Absolutely superb from start to finish ! Just enjoyed a few days at the delightful Manor celebrating my dear Dads 80th Birthday with family .Helen and her incredible team just couldn’t do enough to make sure everything was tip top !From the most warmest of welcomes on Friday until our departure today and throughout the entirety of our stay everyone pulled out all the stops to make sure this was a celebration to remember and it most certainly was ! Superb cuisine and exceptional service by all !Everyone deserves a special mention but unfortunately I’m useless with names so I will just have to say Molly ,Charley ,James ,Dillon and of course Mr Hilton the talented chef !Massive thank you once again !

A lovely setting in the Terra restaurant. Although the roast was tasty the portions were very small. Lovely roast potatoes and yorky but only 2 small slices of lamb, half a carrot, half a parsnip, a teaspoon of butternut puree and some red cabbage. We had been to Cyan in the Grand in Brighton the previous Sunday and the offerings couldn't be more different with dessert and additional veg included at Cyan which means that on a value for money basis, Tottington was way behind.

We ate in the new taster menu room, it was a fabulous evening with amazing food, wonderful wine pairing, brilliant staff and an all around good time. Whilst an extravagant evening, it was exceptionally enjoyable. I heartily recommend the Totty to everyone who like fine dining at its best!
