Even though we called the hotel stating that we would be late for the check-in and dinner as there was heavy snow in the highway. The staff postponed it to 730. However, the snow was so heavy, we lost our way in town and we arrived at 8:10. The staff saying that we were too late and rejected to provide any food for us. we had to walk downhill to the town to find our own dinner. however, on the second night of our stay, we noticed that the other guests were having dinner at 9:10 when we passed by the restaurant. We know that we were late, but I believed that hotel is in the hospitality industry, the staff have to be considerate to the guests. as we were not meant to be late on purpose, just because of the bad weather outside, we couldn’t drive fast. We were in the highway 2 1/2 hours without any food and drink in the hope of arriving on time.

The hotel is generally good.
However, there is one thing that annoys me a bit. I chose the meal-included package and saw on other platforms that the meal offered was beef kaiseki. But I still chose to book through the Ctrip platform. The day I arrived, I asked the reception what dinner was and I was told it was pork shabu-shabu. I asked if I could change to beef kaiseki for an additional fee and the front desk told me it was not possible. When I entered the restaurant during the meal, I saw that everyone except our table was eating beef kaiseki.
So, is this discrimination or a platform problem?

It’s quite a big hotel, 3 buildings are connected and there are many rooms. The rooms are a bit outdated but still maintained well. Service was good and flexible. Transportation to the village is quite necessary when the roads are covered by snow, especially with luggage. They have free shuttle bus which is great.
Best parts: 1. Dinner semi-buffet has unlimited alcoholic beverages including local sake, draft beer and wines. 2. Ski & board rental shop is right outside of the hotel. Although hotel only accept cash for the lift ticket, you can rent the gear (rental shop accepts credit card) and ski down the hill (20sec) to the cable ticket counter to buy ticket, pay by credit card. There was a little bit of a problem with the pick-up at Zao Onsen Station at the beginning. The operator's English was not very good, but we were finally picked up! Then the hotel is relatively old, but very clean! On the last day when we were about to leave, we asked if we needed to pick up guests at the station, and then they just helped us to pick up at the station, so the round-trip pick-up service was very good!

Traditional Japanese inn, but bright, new room facilities, reasonable layout. The hot spring is comfortable. There are massage chairs in the public area on the second floor, and coffee and snacks are provided free of charge. It was a pleasant surprise compared to the first day of staying in the hotel.

The staff were very kind, and although our itinerary required frequent transportation, they were happy to provide pick-up and drop-off services many times. They also booked the tickets for the Zao Mountain cable car on our behalf, and also booked the return tickets online for us. Upon departure, a dedicated staff member accompanied us to the station and communicated with the station service center staff in Japanese. They provided delicious breakfast and dinner, and also had a dedicated translator to help us communicate with them. There were so many elaborate and lovely decorations in the hot spring hotel, which created a quiet and calm atmosphere. The soundproofing was also good, and the bed sheets and comforters were very comfortable. Overall, we are very satisfied! This is a must-visit hotel! Thank you for your hospitality! 🫶🏻

When I made the reservation, there were only a few rooms left. I sent an email to the hotel to ask if it was possible to accommodate three people in a room, as I wanted to add more people, but the hotel did not respond. Later, when I arrived at the hotel, I had to ask my friend to book a hotel nearby. Because the location is very remote and we arrived late, the room we bought included dinner, but the hotel was unwilling to give it to an extra friend to dine together. They were also very strict. Even if we wanted to pay, they were unwilling to give us an extra seat to dine together. They even wanted to kick our friends out. When we asked our friends to stay in the room, someone would come to the room and knock on the door to kick us out. The experience on the first day was not very good. We are very polite guests and we don't make noise or disturb other guests, but it is hard to understand how the hotel treats guests. Still keep saying だめだめだめ

There was a problem when reserving the shuttle bus. The hotel required that the shuttle bus be reserved three days in advance, but the hotel must be notified through the form on the official website. Two of the two items in the form were to fill in the phone number and hiragana. Hiragana can also be found on the Internet. I tried filling in my home phone number, but it didn't pass the check on the form, so the notification couldn't be sent. The online voice call using Trip.com only has Japanese phone recording, so it must have been after office hours.
I once asked Trip.com customer service to help contact the hotel and asked for a real reservation or email address, but the reservation was rejected and the email was not responded to.
The whole process gave the impression that the hotel did not want guests to successfully reserve a shuttle bus. I hope the hotel can improve this. The name always has the word ”international” in it, so I hope the service can also connect to international customers.

Woah! This is one of the best ryokans we’ve been to. The staff was super attentive and could speak some English, the rooms were amazing (see the photos!). The onsen in the room was fantastic so there was no need for us to go to the public or private onsen downstairs.
The hotel is located 3 minutes away from the bus station and conveniently situated near everything. We’ve stayed at other ryokans but this one was top notch! We strongly recommend to stay at this place and will try to come back again with friends and family. Oh! The food was wow, too! We had breakfasts and dinners included and the sukiyaki dinner offered Yamagata A5 meat which was to die for. Breakfast was also great!

I came to Yamagata for an event and stayed at this hotel. The room was small, but it was nice that there was a large public bath! Also, breakfast was included and the rice was very delicious! I will definitely stay here again if I visit Yamagata again!

ZZoeAbsolutely lovely place. At first I thought I'd be uncomfortable with how spaceous the room was (I'm a very jumpy solo traveller), but the room was just so comfy with an excellent view. The heater was a bit hot, but there was an electric fan too, so all was great.
The hotel allows you to have a free 50 minute private bath each night, and the private baths are amazing, able to accommodate up to five persons and with windows to let in the light and stuff. Excellent onsen water -- very acidic and very hot. Takes some time getting used to the heat, but once you do it's a heavenly experience. There are also public baths (free of charge) that you could enjoy throughout the night and into early morning (they're closed for cleaning only during 9-12 in the morning), one indoor and one outdoor, both connected to one another. The outdoor one is a bit small, but it's so refreshing to be able to flee from the stifling indoor onsen to enjoy the crisp winter air while soaking up in the heat.

The hotel has a shuttle bus service, but no relevant information was provided during the booking process. We walked to the hotel by ourselves, which took more than ten minutes. It was a bit embarrassing in the snow in winter.

It was a long time since we last had a private room together as a couple, so we were looking forward to it.
The view from the room was also very good and we were satisfied, but the baths were small and there were only two types, one open-air bath and one inside the building, so we were a little disappointed. However, there were two saunas, they lent us swimsuits, and we were happy that yukatas were free. However, what impressed us the most was that the staff member took a photo of the couple and asked us if we wanted one, and we were so touched that we wanted to go back again.
It was hard to take a photo of the couple, so it felt like we were traveling alone, haha
I want to go again.
Oh! I recommend the spacious space where you can read a book.

GGuest UserAlthough the sparrow is small, it has all the internal organs. The basic equipment is perfect. The attitude is friendly. It is only about 5 minutes from the attractions Lam Station or Hot Spring Street.

MMiaoxiangbaozhuA Japanese-style hotel with a great location. The No. 4 cable car station is less than 100 meters away, which is very convenient for skiing. The hotel is quite old. Although the facilities are a bit old, there is no separate shower in the room (you can only take a shower in the hot spring public bath), only a washbasin and a toilet, but the overall style is very Japanese, and the food and service are very good. In particular, the hotel's hot spring is very good. After soaking, the skin is smooth. The open-air hot spring downstairs can also be bathed while watching the snow, which is really a wonderful enjoyment.
The hotel can provide short-distance pick-up and drop-off services, such as from the Zao bus station to the hotel or from the hotel to the ski lift station, etc., just call the hotel front desk. The hotel service staff mainly speaks Japanese, but can also communicate in simple English.

林林阿彩This time I went to Tibetan Wangshubing to find a lot of hotels. After reading the evaluation of the website, I chose this hotel. I was disappointed after I actually checked in.
The view of the hotel is beautiful, the meals are good, the service staff are friendly, the location is good, and the connection service is also provided.
But it may be that the hotel is old and there is a problem with the water pipe line. After we took a shower, we had to put the water in the bathtub. When we found that the water was discharged on the floor of the bathroom, not directly discharged into the water pipe. The water discharged in an instant was mixed with a lot of dirty things, super disgusting, What is even more terrible is that the drainage of the bathroom floor is blocked, the water is too overflowing, our room is wet, the floor is carpeted, causing us a lot of trouble. At 10 o'clock in the evening, no one was there, and we stayed until the next day to check out, which was very inconvenient.

GGuest UserWe stayed here from February 14th for two days and one night with two meals included. Check-in was from 3pm, but we arrived a little early and were treated warmly. After dinner we enjoyed a bath in the on-site hot spring, and perhaps it was good timing as we had the place to ourselves and were able to spend a luxurious time in a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was buffet style and curry was also available in the morning which was very delicious. It was also great to be able to enter the ski resort just a short walk from the hotel. The hotel is famous for not being blessed with good weather, but the second day was beautifully sunny and it was a wonderful memory.
