"I started out in my younger days staying at 3 star hotels working myself up to 5 star hotels these days. On this recent weekend trip i held back on my post xmas spending and got a great deal at Kore so I took a chance on it despite all the negative reviews. I think the 1 out 5 star ratings are ridiculously unfair. Rooms were big, clean, and comfy. Location was decent and had great views of the sea. I only had breakfast as I like to get out and explore, so I couldn't tell you much about the quality of food. The waiters were good, as soon as I sat down, my coffee was poured. After they recognized I tip, I never had to wait in line to get my omelets...lol. best part was the service from the front desk concierge (the Mexican soap opera looking guy) Victor. Dude was always so nice and helpful. Upon checkout, I had a late flight out, he knew that I love bike riding, so he let me keep my bracelet to have access until my shuttle arrived. I did not experience most of the issues on these reviews. English speaking staff was a challenge, but i found that was an issue everwhere I was in Tulum. Overall, if you were to go by the strict AAA guidelines, this hotel would probably recieve a 3-3.5 rating and closer to a 4 by the generous booking sites. This was no Hyatt, but a good value. Dont let those 1 star ratings discourage you.
My rating does not include the quality of food..."
