"Small but exquisite hotel. They have their own beach and lounge chairs, but you can't swim because there are reefs on the beach. There is a public beach for swimming a few steps to the right. You can enjoy the charming sea view and sunset every day lying on the hotel's lounge chairs. The hotel restaurant offers delicious food, and we had most of our dinners in the hotel's Captain's Restaurant. Every staff member is very enthusiastic, and the service staff called Yanis is very friendly. My son and I stayed for nine nights and it was a wonderful vacation"

"The bathroom leaks! The balcony of the room leads directly to the beach. The beach, swimming pool, bar and restaurant are all very nice. Water sports such as paddle board, rowing, surfing are free, but you need to pay to go out on a boat to chase dolphins. The breakfast is rich."

"The location of the hotel is average, although there is no beach at the beach, the only thing is very secluded. The yard where the hotel is located is very large and there are many houses for short and medium term rental. Hotel facilities are relatively old, but it is a bit special, the hotel lobby is not big, the bird cage inside is feeding a few birds. The service is OK. If you have dinner, there are two restaurants, one bar to choose from, and one that is open to Asian restaurants opened by Malaysians. The price of the local restaurant below is acceptable. The hotel's WIFI is very poor and often does not receive signals in the rooms."

"An amazing hotel right on the water with every room facing the water. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Beautiful big rooms with lovely balconies. The dinner and breakfast were also really good, with a great variety and a lovely outdoor area to sit at. I do however think the cleaning staff need to take a bit more care when cleaning. We were there for 6 nights and 3 of the nights we had to phone housekeeping because we did not have towels, or we did not get toilet paper, or we did not get our bath robes… and then housekeeping took at least 20-30minutes to bring the items. The other thing was that they put a single duvet into a double duvet - so when you are sleeping there are many times when you only have a sheet and no duvet. Maybe change that. Otherwise I really can’t complain about anything. There are plenty of beach chairs and there were always chairs available and it was an amazing and relaxing place."

"The hotel is in the north, and the airport is in the south (a bit dizzy), 50 minutes drive from the airport. There are hotels on the beach. This French hotel is 3 stars locally. The hotel is not big but still beautiful. If you have time, you can spend a day in the hotel. The hotel is very private. There is a supermarket on the left and restaurants and some shops on the right. The clothes sold are at tourist prices. Go out on the right, near the sea, and there is a police station. Around 15 from Port Louis The service staff are good, the breakfast is full but there are really few things... Speaking French has an advantage over English. There is a 20% discount for spa reservations 48 hours in advance, and helicopters can also be booked. The hotel does not provide slippers and toothbrushes, please bring your own, as well as adapters. When checking out on the 7th, the front desk will charge 160 and say that the two bottles of water in the room are chargeable. Damn, the little brother who checked in clearly said that it is free. If you encounter a service staff who does not say hello to deduct the tip in advance, you will become a habit that Chinese people are stupid."

"It was okay! Nothing special. It was part of our honeymoon, I wrote it on the notes during the booking but there was no acknowledgment from the staff or done anything special for us. Food was okay, definitely repeatjng buffet, nothing specials Location is quite isolated but if you have a car it’s not that bad."

"A bit tired hotel, cold tiles on the floor in the rooms, nowhere to dry bathing suits. Good food, excellent restaurant. We had dinner in a Japanese restaurant, really liked it. Didn't like that random people were walking around the hotel, we didn't see any security, and if there was, they didn't pay attention to it. Strangers came up to the sun loungers, went inside, took a shower near the pool, probably could have gone into the restaurant, because there was no one at the entrance, no one asked anything. Once they brought us a bill written out for our room the day before, without a signature. We said that it wasn't our bill, they calmly removed it, probably not the first time."

"Rats in restaurant On arrival the hotel is really beautiful - a small oasis tucked away with gorgeous colonial style. The reception staff were really lovely and made us feel welcome. The room was really nice - but there were a few things we noticed (which we let slide at the start) - massive dirty lipstick mark on one of our water glasses, filthy lampshades above the bathroom sinks, bed linen that didn’t feel particularly fresh and the robes as well had a slight greyish colour rather than bright white which they were meant to be. These were all minor things at the start which we didn’t even mention to each other but did notice. We then had our first night at the cocktail bar where our drink was served by the lovely barman (very polite and smily) - as we were drinking we saw a huge rat run across the terrace - we decided it was an island and maybe this is normal (although we really weren’t happy about it). We then were dining within the restaurant and again a huge rat was running towards the table. For us, this is not ok. We asked to move tables as we saw a rat and the waiters barely acknowledged it - didn’t offer any apology and then proceeded to avoid our table for the rest of the night. We informed the manager the next day who assured us he was aware and the rat had been caught, and to “give it a chance”. We weren’t offered so much as a complimentary drink. After dining in the restaurant again the second night and again seeing a rat - for us it was time to check out. Not only is it unpleasant seeing rodents running around while eating but I would say it’s a hygiene issue and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food. The only concession we were offered was to not pay for the remaining nights that we would not be staying for. Really disappointing. On hindsight some things we would add about the whole experience: - Not a 5 star in terms of food, service or cleanliness - Staff really hit and miss - some very friendly some really rude and unhelpful - Rooms didn’t feel clean - Food was average - nothing felt fresh including breakfast - Quite stingey with water - water not replaced within our room (had to ask for it) We are now staying at a different hotel and haven’t seen one rat, so don’t think this is “just an island thing” as the manager stated. The service and food are also worlds apart which has really solidified that our review of 20 degres sud as completely justified - not a 5 star experience whatsoever."
