The décor. The land. The people. This place is beautiful. The best part is the family feeling. Felt like home. So much love and friendliness. The food was tasty. My daughter ordered the hake twice and I did the same with the trout- twice in a row.

What a beautiful farm which is meticulously kept. It definitely has Scottish charm. Will recommend it to some friends immediately. A delightful Chinese family. Jules was so warm and welcoming. Thank you. The best aspect is the drive in through an Avenue of pin oaks!!!

Our high expectations were handsomely exceeded: sophisticated yet relaxing decor, vibrant colours without being garish. Wide range of recreational facilities (including an extensive spa set-up), meals excellent (new young chef bringing with him some great ideas), and outstanding service. Over many years of living and traveling overseas we've had countless interfaces with the hospitality industry, and Fordoun rates among the very best in terms of how we were treated. Efficiently run with the overriding factor its customer focused management and staff. (Special mention goes to Jules Minton in this regard.) A place steeped in history with a remarkable transition from eminent dairy farm to world class country hotel. Guaranteed to bring down your blood pressure and heart rate the natural way!

From the time of arrival to our departure we experienced a warm hospitality that permeated from our dining experiences in the Skye Restaurant to our spa treatments. The staff were attentive and polite and we felt that there was nothing they would hesitate to do for us, to make our stay more comfortable than it already was. We will definitely be back.

My partner and had the signature Ndlovu and Phumuza massage. Thobeka and Nomvu were our therapists and we were impressed with the technique and the pressure was just right. We left feeling relaxed and wishing we had booked the entire day. The best massage by far and we are already planning our next one with a stay at the Hotel. The Spa is clean, fresh, spacious and relaxing. Everyone we had encountered were professional and friendly. 10/10 experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my half day spa with you on the 09th May 2025. The floating session was an incredible experience. A very special thankyou to Lorraine who made the day so special, relaxing and an expert in her field. Worth every penny and hope to be back soon.

The staff were professional and the treatment was incredible. The atmosphere was calm and the waiting room area was convenient as my friend had a longer treatment than me and I could comfortably wait there for her. I recommend the head, neck and shoulder massage.

Dear Fordoun, My wife & I are lost for words, the venue, facilities, accommodation, food and all staff contributing to the exceptional service were out of this world! Dani & I found this venue by accident one day when we drove past this stunning looking driveway, little did we know this would be the start leading up to our dream wedding, indeed this lived beyond our expectations for our dream wedding! We can't wait to come back for anniversaries and one day bring our children to show them where it all began. I would love to thank the entire Fordoun team, including the gardeners, staff, waiter's, barmen, chefs, room cleaners, management, receptionists and a very special thank you to our superb wedding coordinator, Lungi! From setting up to packing up, Lungi was a life saver, you say things once and you know it'll be done. Our wedding weekend couldn't have felt easier knowing Lungi was in control of it all.
