Burnley House

Very shocked, unbelievable and abusive proprietor Last minute booking… no one there on arrival… no heating, lighting. Nothing cozy or inviting about the inside… looked like it had been shut down for 3 months and not re-opened but the worst was to come… Asked proprioter to come to property as requested refund, but was verbally abused by someone called Ruth who screamed at me to get out of property and following day accused me of mental health issues. Extremely distressing and intimidating people (fabricating lies that I was abusive - please do not go near these intimidating people)

After making a last minute booking to extend our holiday, we found Burnley House in 'Yorkshires prettiest village', Hutton-le-Hole. It was a self check in service the time we arrived, and it was exciting letting ourselves in to this beautiful country house and finding our room. We were very pleasantly surprised how lovely and spacious our room was, and it was beautifully furnished. We popped across the road to the Crown pub and had a fabulous pie and chips, then made our way back to our digs while admiring stars in the gorgeously clear night sky (no light pollution here), and listening to owls hooting in the trees. The bed was super comfy with nice soft pillows so we had a great nights sleep. We went down to the dining room for breakfast where there was a wonderful fireplace, with a warm log fire burning. We also got a warm welcome from Ruth, who was really friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We wouldn't hesitate to book Burnley House again, and look forward to our next visit.

Lovely overnight stay in the Bransdale room. Room was large, comfortable and clean with a fantastic view. Communication from the hosts was spot on and check in was smooth and simple. We were lucky enough to get a sunny September Saturday so after a walk round the village and a pint in the beer garden of The Crown we plonked our weary bottoms on the handy garden furniture in the gardens of the B&B and enjoyed a glass of wine. Breakfast was an absolute treat. Plentiful fresh chopped fruit was delicious to start followed by the tastiest full English we've had in a long while. Hosts are friendly and welcoming and we are already wondering if we can fit another visit in before the winter kicks in.

What a special experience staying at Burnley County House which was built in the mid 18th century. Sadly we had only allotted the one night which is way too short. Ruth and Rachel’s B&B house felt full of love with every detail. I was mesmerized with the peaceful view from our ‘Bransdale’ bedroom window. I so enjoyed soaking in a glorious classic bathtub while overlooking their private English garden. Our following morning’s breakfast was made special by the owner Ruth sharing stories with us of the homestead while enjoying our yummy home made fruit salad and generous cooked brekkie. My husband and I will definitely return to spend more time in Hutton-Le-Hole and the many neighboring quaint towns that surround this picture-perfect part of the North York Moors. We look greatly forward to that and staying again at Burnley Country House. Thank you dear Ruth for making our memories magical!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Rosedale room, which was perfectly comfortable and cosy. The building itself is in a quaint village and has lovely traditional features. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the host was attentive and friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you!

Excellent weekend with all the family..lovely house with everything we could need. So cosy to have open fires to sit by after a busy day. Ruth and Rachael were a pleasure to meet. We had a nice meal at the pub in the village and enjoyed sandwiches from the deli. Great time was had by all!
