Hotel Mongibello Ibiza

Aesthetically this hotel is lovely, however the demeanour and attitude of staff completely kills the vibe. Each night the hotel hosts functions and serves alcohol into the night, however refuses guests service after 11pm (very strange for Ibiza!). This issue occurred again during lunch service, where due to the fact a wedding was being hosted we ended up waiting over 2 hours for our food order! In the same vein we were served 10 euro wines in plastic cups at the restaurant, as we were told all glasses were being used by guests of the function. We asked to discuss this with the manager, but were told twice they were unavailable, we were offered a free cocktail though :/. Pool and bar staff were fairly rude during the day, we were told we were not allowed to consume our own bottles of water at the pool in 33 degree heat, and staff consistently hovered around the beds to ensure this wasn’t the case! Been to 5 star hotels all over, and never had an issue consuming water by the pool, especially when we are spending 50 euros on other drinks at the same time. Breakfast and reception staff were lovely, and again, the pool and overall setting etc was fantastic. Overall through, when you spend so much money to come to a nice hotel on holiday, you expect the staff to be understanding and accommodating, and unfortunately the bar staff at Mongibello weren’t either.

We booked this hotel through Tui and it did not disappoint us. From the moment we walked in we knew the vibe would be great. The decor is 1950s Italian style and there are lovely blue tiles throughout the hotel and pool area. The staff on reception and around the pool and Sorella restaurant were excellent and friendly. We had two double rooms with balconies 303 and 304 which had a partial sea view. The rooms were decorated brightly and had everything we needed. Towels were bath sheets so lovely and big, shower area had shampoo, conditioner and body wash and by the sink was handwashing and body lotion. Although there were no drawers there was plenty of shelves and hanging space for clothes. The only things we thought were lacking in the rooms was a bin in the bedroom and maybe some shelves for toiletries in the bathroom. The pool area was lovely and spacious, no need to reserve Sun beds as plenty around but not sure what it would be like in high season. Dj at pool everyday 2-6 which we enjoyed, seats in the pool with very high powered jets. Waiter service around the pool to get drinks and food if you wish, Viktor was a very good waiter plus Franco in the restaurant at lunchtime. Food and drinks were average price I’d say and huge portions, we as a family of four tended to share 2 dishes between us as still full from breakfast. Talking of breakfast, we all enjoyed it too. Plenty to choose from and all nice and hot. There was a chef making omelettes, fried and poached eggs on request. Lots of choice in pastries, bread and cakes. Plenty of fruit options, yoghurts, meat and cheese, we didn’t starve that’s for sure. Across the road from the hotel is a supermarket where we brought water from and kept in the fridge in our room, you can buy cans of water around the pool at 4 euros for 500ml, although we did see people getting jugs of water from the bar with glasses of ice so not sure if free or not? Overall we were very pleased with our 5 night stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Amazing hotel, super clean and staff super friendly. Ari at reception was super friendly and helpful. Pool staff were really helpful also and made our holiday experience so relaxed and special. The views are amazing also from the pool area and our upgraded hotel room. We can’t wait to return next May.

We had a really lovely stay at the Mongibello - the decor is so unique and picturesque. The location is perfect and the staff were so helpful. A special thank you to Camelia and the rest of the booking team who helped me with an error I’d made via ******* (who were impossible to contact). We’ve recommended the hotel to family and friends ahead of our wedding in Ibiza in Sept! They will have a perfect stay.
