Review which I will put on Tripadvisor and anywhere else you wish. The Grand Cliff Resort, Munnar This was a special vacation planned for my 80+ year old parents. Our first time to Kerala, wanted a luxurious break. When researching for hotels it is difficult to ascertain if a hotel is truly luxurious, so my assessment was based on price of rooms and amenities. We selected the two bedroom suites which included Breakfast, morning Tea plantation walks and High tea. We arrived late afternoon having driven for 5 hours from Alappuzha. Note: recommend hiring drivers rather than self drive for non-Indian guests. The reception was lovely but a little overwhelming after a long journey, and asked to be taken to the room. The room views were spectacular and I do recommend staying in the suites for the privacy and views. Housekeeping were excellent and everything was clean and requests addressed promptly. In fact this can be said of all staff at the hotel, they make every effort to accommodate any request. I was particularly pleased with Adhil a young trainee whose understanding of English was excellent. I took the morning Yoga lessons from Gopu a very experienced professional with a constant genuine smile, followed by the morning walk accompanied by a lovely knowledgeable staff, Ajith, who was able to explain more about the tea picking and making process. It is not a long walk (3km downhill) and have the option half way down you can continue the walk to the hotel or returning with the minibus. There is a lovely surprise when you see the minibus half way down your walk. If you are lucky you are able to mingle with the tea pickers who are happy to interact any way they can. We were happy with all services and food we ordered. But the most outstanding feature of the hotel are the natural views. You will never get bored no matter how long you stay there. The tiger cave and elephant spotting point is near the hotel. Well worth visiting. Areas of improvement is a few hors d'oeuvres with the high tea. Thank you to all the staff for looking after us
