We stayed here from 20/12 - 27/12 2024. The majority of the guests were German-speaking. Very few children and if there were, they too were German-speaking. So not great for my 8yo. The Weather was absolutely atrocious. Thunderstorms and constant downpours. Lots of people fell over, one English speaking guest had to go to Hospital as she had broken her tibia. The hotel was beautiful. Very luxurious feel to everything decor-wise. The staff were good; attentive and thoughtful. There were a few standout rude ones, like anywhere I suppose. The lady that makes snacks in the afternoon had a face like thunder and would make dismissive sounds when you asked her for something... The food was excellent, however this is debatable as my son and partner are 'fussy eaters' and so their experience was not like mine. I was surprised there wasn't always a selection of beige foods available; usually at an all-inc you always get Chicken nuggets/Hot dogs/Burgers etc but that wasn't on offer here. So again, not great for kids/adults who have sensory issues with food. I did ask at one point if the pizza type things that were being made, if we could have just a cheese and tomato version - i was told no. If they made a special request for my son, then everyone would ask for a special request. I wasn't happy with this response, as my son barely ate at all due to the lack of selection. All in all, I believe our stay was marred by the weather being so terrible, however I will not return to the hotel as I would prefer somewhere with more English speakers, mainly so my son can engage and make 'holiday friends'. If you are considering this Hotel, bare in mind you may be the only English speakers.

Just got back from the Side Royal palace (28th Dec ) What a lovely hotel, The desk staff was very friendly and helpful, The room and hotel was spotless! The food was very good and a huge choice. The weather was shocking, very high winds and heavy rain, but inside it was warm. The all inclusive was as it says, ALL inclusive including a minibar. It would be good if the satellite tv had English channels as well as the german . The hotel was full of German guests, not a problem as they are on vacation as well so no problem. Most of the staff speak English ( some a little) no problem. The bus stops to Side just around the corner... Overall i loved it, a great hotel, not to be missed

Absolutely awful hotel you don’t get what you have been sold !!! Very dirty tired looking rooms with a mouldy damp bathroom !! Mini bar was only stocked for our arrival and the 11 nights we stayed it wasn’t re stocked we had to buy our own coffee etc , which again was awful experience as the shop staff corner you pressuring you to buy more than what you want to purchase, food always stone cold , the hotel only cater for German and Dutch entertainment the same , our sheets only got changed once and that was because tui contacted the hotel !! Book a taxi at reception and it don’t arrive !! Half the amenities don’t open , couldn’t book a la carte as was always closed !! Turkey is a lovely place but this hotel is dreadful very rude staff and housekeepers walk around begging you for money !!!

Location: Location is in a decent enough location only a short walk to the beach but a shuttle bus comes every 30 minute and your around a 15 minute drive to old town( €15 ) and an hour to Land of legends and land around hotel is reasonably flat. Outside the hotel is just an abundance of clothing shops selling the same thing broken up by the odd pharmacy or spice/tea shop. From what I can see it's not as packed with bars as Marmaris etc and seem to be a lot less pushy. Food: The food in the hotel is hit or miss in honesty with the best meal being the al a carte meal we had (around the world) this was exceptional and our host was fantastic. The snacks bar was also pretty good selling burgers chips etc and chicken kebabs. Food in honesty across breakfast, lunch and dinner where not what I would expect in a 5 star hotel there seemed to be more of a focus on how it looked that how it tasted and food catered more for the German guests which was the majority in fairness. Ice cream also only available in a 2 hour window which I found bizarre. All inclusive bar served branded spirits but these where on request at no extra charge, a decent cocktail menu also but pretty heavy on the alcohol (pro or con depends who you ask). We stayed in swim up rooms on the opposite side from the main pool and really enjoyed it although there is no sun after 15:00 on this side. Need to be up before the roosters to get a sun Lounger by the pool (I swear people must have camped out). Fridge always restocked with beer, variety of soft drinks and water and the cleaners done an outstanding job. Never used the spa etc but you need to see the massage guy to get your towel anyway and he will no doubt ask. Weirdly there are tattoo reps hounding you to get tattoos (seem to have a partnership with the hotel) bit random but the grind never stops. Staff are 50/50 some are outstanding some couldn't be more uninterested but we all have days like this. The area surrounding is trading mostly in euros which is isn't ideal . Overall a good stay but a few things could improve we would stay again but as a Brit we felt out of place in the area but that's not the hotels fault it's just the resort

We had a lovely time at the Side Royal Palace. The rooms were spacious, bed pretty comfortable. Everyone with very friendly, not sure why some of the reviews are a bit negative around this. We met a lovely German family and spent a lot of time hanging out with them. We also met some Romanians who shared with plum vodka with us... not for the faint hearted. The food was pretty good for mass catering, we felt the buffet restaurants in the main hotel and on the beach were best. A la carte wasn't to our taste. The entertainment was really good. At the beach and by the pool we never had any issues getting a sun bed. We didn't go any of the organised tours, we just used the taxi's and they were fine. Side Old Town has a nice vibe even though it is a it expensive. Was nice to see the ampitheatre and the Temple of Apollo, the sun set was also fab. We also went to the Thursday market but then we realised that the shops near the hotel were actually cheaper! so be warned! Overall we had a wonderful time. This was our first time in Turkey and we will definitely be back.

When we were on the verge of visiting Side, we had concerns about our stay in this hotel (that's because our last stay in a 5-star hotel was just horrible, the description of the hotel seemed to be all made up). But this time nothing could be further from the truth! The hotel is situated near the Evrenseki beach, you can go for a short walk and there it is - the sea :) there is a pool bar and a lot of space to lay and sunbathe. The food was diverse and delicious. Some dishes were repeatable but there were also new things to taste each day. Breakfasts as well as dinners and desserts were all tasty and looked amazing as shown in the photo below. Our rooms was quite small but there was everything that was necessary, one double bed (very comfortable), a spacious shower, a baby cot, etc. We spent at least one hour every day in the hotel bar outside next to the lobby. We were pleased with the delicious drinks and the service. The pool is divided into 3 areas, one is a shallow pool with a tiny slide for toddlers, one area is for people who use the slides for the older ones and the rest is deep enough to swim and have fun in the water. We have no objections to staying at this hotel.

We had a super 7 days at this excellent hotel. Great food, lots of choices and very attentive waiters and waitresses. Beach facilities were superb as was the Beach restaurant and bar which again served a variety of foods and fresh pizzas. Pools were great. Favourite place was the coffee shop which was so quiet and chilled. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Mini bar was restocked every day with soft drinks. Can’t fault this wonderful hotel!
