Foyers Bay Country House

Had to sadly cancel our booking at 6am on the day of arrival due to receiving a call from the hospital to say we needed to get back in time as a family member was about to pass. Obviously this wasn’t planned a complete shock and it didn’t meet their seven day cancellation policy. If only we all knew seven days before we were going to pass away. Absolutely no empathy shown in messages or the phone call apart from a condescending comment about me having a tough day but it’s not their problem to foot any cost. £200 pure profit from us being able to not make the trip. I understand small businesses and more than support this but I am also a firm believer in doing the right thing. I have asked them to make a charitable donation under the circumstances but have had no response. No doubt this place is ok but I seriously question the hosts morals. Maybe think twice if this is where you want to spend your money. I had no expectations of a full refund. They said they would if they resold but they put the price up so that wasn’t going to happen. No response to my message but I assume I will get a sarcastic reply to this. A token gesture under the extreme circumstance would have made all the difference. I do hope if the hosts should ever be in the same unfortunate situation they dont have the same experience they delivered to me that day.

Ellie and Chris are good to make you feel at home, and the breakfasts are very good. They recommended places to go that were not in the guide, and that was very appreciated. I liked my room , number 1 with balcony, although not quite as luxurious as expected! But the bed is comfy ( except for the pillows but I bring my own) and it has lots of light . I really enjoyed my 4 nights stay , It was a good place to go visit de Highlands in all directions, if like I said you don’t mind single lane winding road for 10 to 20 miles around!

This is a great location with beautiful views of Loch Ness, but without the crowds. There is a pleasant walk through the woods to Foyers Falls and the village cafe that starts in the guest house driveway. One can also walk to the shore of Loch Ness. The hosts were charming and made us very welcome. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. We wished we had planned to stay longer.

Chris, Elly and all the animals,wild and domestic are delightful. Daily saw badgers, and deer. My wee poodle was welcomed. The food was delicious. The bed was perfect. My room had views of Loch Ness and the gardens. Easy access to walks, cafes and restaurants. A relaxing and enjoyable few days. Thank you 😊 🐩

Just a lovely find! Chris is so friendly and accomodating. Fab breakfast cooked by Elly. Beautiful room and setting, clearly hard working owners who put their heart and soul into their business. Wildlife was incredible, red squirrels, abundance of birds and resident animals.

This hotel is fantastic ! It sits on the bank of Loch Ness, and from the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome from Chris . The rooms were immaculate and so comfortable with luxurious touches. The local knowledge shown by Chris and Elly is second to none. We were told the local wildlife would visit the garden at particular times, and they certainly did , Red Squirrels, wild deer, and even Badgers, magical ! Finally, the breakfast cooked by Elly was the best we had on our tour of Scotland ! The only downside was that we wished we had booked for more than one night ! Superb, we will be back and would definitely recommend it to others.
