Inn on Columbia

I spent four wonderful nights at the Inn on Columbia and join the choir of happy patrons in praising the warm and engaging hosts, their lovely home, and the incredible breakfasts--which I have never encountered at any other place I've stayed. I travel often and am in my early sixties! Madeline and Kenn make one feel completely comfortable immediately, providing suggestions for local highlights to enjoy from museums to nature and favorite restaurants. All combined, it added enormously to my experience of Ithaca. I came to Ithaca to do research in the Rare and Manuscript Collection at Cornell. Imagining spending days on end deep in files--I thought a cold anonymous hotel would do little for my state of mind. I decided to stay at the Inn on Columbia having read the glowing reviews on various sites. I stayed in the main house. It was quiet, private, spotless and serene. I'm so glad I stayed at the Inn on Columbia--a once in a lifetime experience I'll always treasure!

The owners really do take pride in their properties! The Villa Madeline is an offsite property that the owners of the Columbia B&B operate, and I stayed in the downstairs red room w/ a queen size bed. I checked in at the main house and was super impressed with the architecture and the interior, and was given easy directions to the Villa Madeline which was very close. I was only there for two nights, so I didn't need much from the owners. The kitchen was stocked with continental breakfast treats, and the overall feeling was very comfortable. The living room offered a lot of reading material for the area. My private bath had personal toiletries which I thought was a nice touch. The pictures of the other units look just as good, and I would definitely choose Columbia B&B for all future visits to Ithaca - I don't think ANY hotels in Ithaca can compare to this place!

Everything was perfect at the Inn on Columbia. We stayed in the gazebo and loved it. With a fireplace, spa tub and comfy bed, the gazebo is a must stay. We were met by the lovely Madeline who introduced us to the Inn. The Inn is in walking distance to a great restaurant and the commons. The architecture is amazing thanks to Kenn. Breakfast was superb, a fluffy egg soufflé, fruit and nice company with another guest. Highly recommended.

Loved our stay in the enchanting, light-filled gazebo during a wedding weekend. A great home base in between wedding festivities, hiking the falls, visiting Cornell campus and sampling the local ice cream. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and delivered to our outside patio and was so delicious. We hope to be back!

Just spent 5 days at Inn on Columbia to celebrate a special anniversary. It could not have been more perfect. We stayed in the unique gazebo room that Madeline and Kenn built. It’s a beautifully romantic and private space with a gas fireplace and a two person jacuzzi. They will bring you a gourmet breakfast or you can have it inside the main house. We did both. Madeline is an expert chef and her sumptuous breakfast creations every morning were a great way to get our days going. Speaking of food, our hosts recommended two restaurants that were outstanding, and were easy walks from the Inn. This bed and breakfast is a class act in every way. So glad we found them, and we expect to be back again next year.

My spouse and I visited Inn on Columbia for a 2-night stopover en route to NYC. I am so glad we did. We stayed in the cottage, perfect for a couple. Kenn and Madeline were very welcoming. They made sure our breakfast food was kosher and even came by to check on the lights for us on Shabbat afternoon. It's a perfect distance to the synagogue and to Cascadilla Gorge. We definitely want to return and check out some of their other properties.
