Holiday Inn Canton (Belden Village)

Very clean and comfortable beds! Also very quiet so it’s good for nice night of sleep!

Someone entered my room, without knocking, nothing was done about it. I was in the hotel room when someone opened the door and entered my room, they did not knock or announce themself beforehand. They quickly closed the door and it sounded like they began to run away. I checked the hallway and there was a man standing in the hallway, but out of concern for my safety, I did not ask him, and closed and locked the door. The hotel phone was not working. I used my personal phone to call the front desk. The woman mentioned that it was most likely maintenance. I asked why they didn't knock or announce themself and she acknowledged that they should have. She told me she would look into it, and text me with an update. I never received an update. After exactly an hour I called the front desk again. The woman mentioned she was unable to leave the front desk to find a maintenance worker to ask what had happened. I was told again that she will get back to me with an update. I was never contacted for the rest of my stay. I was very understanding on both phone calls and did not make a scene of the situation. This makes me believe that the calm manner in which I responded with, is why the situation was not taken seriously. A guest should not have to express their concerns in an angry/frustrated manner in order to be taken seriously. I am still understanding of the fact accidents happen, or that staff was not available to leave the desk to personally investigate the situation, but so many thing should have been done differently. Why did I not receive a call apologizing for the delay on an update? More importantly, why did I never receive a call with an update at all? Nothing was done to fix this situation. Most importantly, nothing was done to ensure the safety of a guest at this hotel, which is the most concerning part. I am extremely disappointed in the way that this situation was handled. This is very telling of what the priorities are for the management of this hotel.

My husband surprised me with a night out for my 50th Birthday celebration. Everyone at the hotel was super nice, the driver of the shuttle was so pleasant to talk with. Afte dinner a group of us returned to the bar for drinks, the bar service was amazing, the manager and staff came over to our table with a bottle of Champaign and desert and sang Happy Birthday. We will definitely be back, this hotel has the best customer service I have ever witnessed, and to top it off the room was amazing. Thank you for helping make my Birthday Celebration perfect!!!

Very clean and super friendly staff. Hotel and rooms were in good condition Dinner was fair, my husband took a gamble and ordered the steak, which was too thin to really take a temp, my burger was decent even though they ran out of tomato and the lettuce looked like it was cooked with the burger. Breakfast buffet was nearly empty when we arrived, but was eventually restocked. The standout of the experience was the staff. Everyone there were super attentive and seemed genuinely happy to help you, which always makes for a good experience. Overall 4 out of 5

Loud whistling noise coming from the toilet as soon as we walked into our room after checking in. I took the top off the toilet to see if there was anything I could do, but to no avail. So we dragged our luggage back to the front desk, and they said "Oh it's doing it again!". They knew it was an issue previously. Tried to tell me they would call maintenance, but I asked for another room. We get a different room, and believe it or not, another toilet problem. Handle was in the vertical position, not flushing right, and leaking water back into the tank. After dragging up and down to the 3rd floor twice, we weren't doing it again, plus we were late for a family dinner. The rest of our stay involved flushing the toilet handle, holding it down, and doing it two to three times to completely flush the toilet. In addition, toilet paper roll had literally ten sheets of paper left on it. Nice to walk into a bathroom with a used roll of toilet paper almost gone. Never again. Awful.

We were very disappointed with this hotel. The room smelled kind of musty when we arrived, the bathroom sink kept clogging up and the wall mounted hair dryer was broken (actually it was the wall outlet that wasn't working). We asked for maintenance at the front desk to clear the sink while we were out and when we got back the sink clogged right back up again. We had 4 people in in a double/ double room and there were only 3 bath towels. We paid extra for included breakfast which was a buffet on the 1st day and the food was cold and not very good. The 2nd morning of our stay the restaurant was completely under staffed with no buffet, which I guess is understandable since it was July 4th, but we had to hound down the only server to submit our orders to the kitchen. But the food came quickly hot from the kitchen and it was very fresh and good.
