I can't believe this is an IHG hotel! I love Holiday Inns and Kimptons and have never had anything but most excellent experiences. While traveling to our cruise ship port, my husband booked this hotel 1) because it is an IHG property and 2) location. Upon arrival, the property looked a little worn and rundown, but we really didn't mind that. However, the person at the front desk was so unsmiling and unwelcoming that I felt I was at Hotel Transylvania. We got to room which was freezing, so I turned on the heat, but to no avail - only cold air was blowing out. It turned the temp up 2 more degrees and again only cold air I had to call the front desk twice to ask for a room that had heat before we were finally moved. It was a nasty, rainy night and we decided to order in. When I went downstairs to ask if the front desk had any suggestions or menus, I was met with a front desk clerk who gave me the rudest look and no response at all. I am not sure what the issue is with this hotel, but it is definitely not what I expect from IHG.

Extended Stay America Jacksonville-Lenior Avenue South. Stay away from this hotel!!! My room was infested with BED BUGS and the hotel knew about it and still placed me in the room. Also, I had too scrub the kitchen and bathroom floors because they were dirty.

When my wife and I checked into the Extended Stay on Lenoir Ave South in Jacksonville, FL on August 1st, we were greeted by the amazing Ms. Dee. However, our experience from then on was far from amazing. We got up to our first room on the second floor. The carpet was very damp and the kitchen floor felt very dirty. In this room, the fridge did not even get cold, but the freezer portion worked. We switched rooms to 101. On the first look, the room was in working order. The phone however did not work, until we moved it by the bed. That evening, we found out that the room was roach-infested, and there was a crack in the wall by the couch. It did appear that when we tried to pull out the couch bed, there were also roaches on the couch, and it was not clean. There was also an infestation of ants. Not only that, but our bathroom vent fan did not work. The next day we were switched to room 304. Tasha (the Assistant GM) checked rooms for us to see what we could get into. At the first onset, the room was very good and for the most part - in working order. During our stay, we encountered multiple issues with the hotel's kitchen appliances. The dishwasher proved to be nonfunctional, as it failed to properly clean our dishes. We subsequently discovered that there was no water supply entering the appliance. Furthermore, the oven presented with a significant fault, causing it to be inoperable. Despite spending more than an hour attempting to cook a pizza, it remained uncooked, and our efforts proved to be in vain. Moreover, the larger right burner was also inoperative. Although we reported these issues to hotel staff, we were informed that they had been outsourced to an external company with no resolution or follow-up communication from either party. Thus, despite repeated attempts to address these issues, they remained unaddressed, rendering the affected appliances virtually unusable. There was a pronounced odor permeating Room 304 that persisted despite our attempts to remove it using air fresheners. Upon conducting a preliminary inspection, we discovered that the air vents attached to the AC unit were in an exceedingly soiled condition. It was only after communicating with Ms. Dee that this issue was resolved. It is surprising that Housekeeping would have failed to address this prior to our check-in, although it was evident that this was not the case with Room 304. We found the provided cookware insufficient and had to supplement it with additional items. In particular, we encountered difficulty with the coffee pot, requiring us to manually hold the Carafe to the filter basket drip area or tilt it towards the back in order to facilitate proper brewing. Initially, obtaining sufficient pillows was challenging. However, Tasha promptly addressed the issue and ensured that we were provided with the required number of pillows for our room. I reserved a room a week in advance for 2 nights with my family, only to get there and have to wait for my room to be cleaned. I was originally assigned to have room 210 but was changed to room 205. Upon entering the room, we were greeted by a sticky floor and then a gigantic roach on the ceiling. I asked for something to clean the floor with, which the housekeeper gave me a microfiber mop to do so. After all of that, there were teenage kids above our room who must’ve been wrestling or something b/c they caused so much disturbance. When asked for our room to be changed but they didn’t have any available. Shortly after reporting the problem from above us, someone came and beat on our room door and then ran. We also reported that to front desk. The front desk receptionist (Nisha, if this is spelled correctly) was very helpful. The next day I was charged an additional $250. I called ESA Jacksonville Lenior South Ave to ask them why are they additional charges to my debit card. The lady name Catharine claimed the housekeeper told her they’re smoking in the room and that a smoke detector was removed and placed in the freezer. Are you kidding me? THERE WAS NO SMOKING IN THE ROOM. I had my kids in that room, whom which I care about. There was no smoking involved whatsoever. And to say the smoke detector was placed in the freezer. I’m almost sure this place is involved in some of fraud. This is criminal. Catharine was not helpful at all. This place is garbage. I would never recommend anyone to this place. All we wanted was to enjoy a small vacation and we had the worst experience ever. And to be charged an additional $250 for something we didn’t do is even more hurtful because this is money being taken away from my children, they are the ones that suffer. How are people allowed to get away with this?! This is awful. I wish I could give zero stars.

I was staying at the Extended Stay until my place was ready. I just love the place the environment is always positive and the staff like family. If you have a problem they'll try to help you and they step in when you need them. Plenty of people come to a hotel but only one make you feel welcome.

Came here for work. The rooms we big, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You need a place to come and enjoy your stay here place stay awhile, stay supplied, stay fueled fresh hot coffee. Love it. Stay smart

Ms. Catherine checked me in. She was very polite and answered all of my questions. We small talked for a few minutes and I really enjoyed the conversation. The staff in the hallways (I assume housekeepers) were very welcoming as well. I was pleased with the cleanliness of my room, and quiet stay. Will definitely be returning to this location.
