Copacabana Hotel and Suites - Adults Only

The staff was wonderful but the property is falling apart which is probably why no one else was there. There were a few older gentlemen who seem to be regulars there that definitely made it uncomfortable for us as a couple. The raccoons living in the ceiling were just an added bonus

This hotel is a DUMP, a RAT HOLE. Built probably between 1960 and 1970 it has never been renovated nor maintained. When I arrived the reception area was empty. I found an employee who immediately offered me a room upgrade at no charge and led me to my room. Let me decribe this hotel: My room was relaitively clean, but its door rubbed against the floor and would open only half-way. On the bed 2 bath towels which at some time must have been white but were now grey. No desk on which to put a computer and work. A balcony: its patio door was so rusted that I could not open it more than half. On the balcony a jacuzzi, empty and with rusted jets, 2 chairs which cushions were cracked with the filling coming out. No facecloths nor hand towels in the bathroom. A small wardrobe with some hangers, but no shelf nor drawers. A safe, but the digital pad was nor functional; they gave me a key for it. The hotel wifi network was not functional. The employee gave me another network to use, but it was so unstable that it would disconnect afer a few seconds. I went down to explore the area. No gardening. The first pool was clear, but no one aroud. The second pool was hazy and again no one around. I felt I was the only guest at this hotel. I asked for the restauant and was told it was CLOSED !! I decided to leave and went back to my room to look for another hotel on my computer. After approximately 15 attemps to stay conected I abandoned and went to the Best Western close by. Trip Advisor should remove the 4 out of 5 rating for this hotel. As a matter of fact Trip Advisor should remove this hotel entirely from its listings. DO NOt GO THERE !!

The place needs renovation but the staff is five star and if the hotel is full or almost full then the guests make up for any defects the place might have. Then the ambience around the pool is first class. Everybody is happy once the party mood kicks in and you will have the time of your life. If you are the only couple in the pool you can get a complete tan but thats it. Drinks and food are good and cheap, but thats it. But if the pool is full you will want to return to this hotel every weekend.
