Excellent location, great staff. This time we had a Star Prestige room - an excellent choice. Access to a separate zone with an infinitive pool, peace, comfort and relaxation. Food very good, great selection. Beds comfortable. It would just be necessary to renovate the rooms, for example replacing the bathtub with a shower.

This was a lovely 4star hotel. The food, staff and facilities were good. The hotel is in a fantastic location on the beach. There were some bad points however 1. The heated pool was closed on 3 successive days due to faeces in the pool. Obviously this was not a fault of the hotel but the clientele on holiday. We didn’t spend time in the pool after that and the other pool was so cold we didn’t use it either. 2. Also we saw one child without clothing in the poolside cafeteria area getting himself a drink and the same child weeing in the pool THERE SHOULD BE SIGNAGE REGARDING NO CHILDREN IN OR AROUND THE CAFE/POOL AREAS WITHOUT ADEQUATE SWIMWEAR 3. There wasn’t any hand wash in the men’s toilets next to the gym

We booked star prestige for our first visit to this hotel, having experienced star prestige previously in Lanzarote. No big deal but check in was at the main reception not at the star prestige check in desk. our room was big, lovely sea facing balcony but was incredibly tired looking, in need of some updating and TLC. The star prestige pool area and bar was excellent, plenty of sun beds, great snacks available and fabulous choice of drinks. The food in the main restaurant offered plenty of choice and general quality was good but the meat selection was very repetitive, pork, pork and more pork! The food being grilled was always hot but at times other dishes on the hot buffet were luke warm. Snack bar by main pools, great choice for lunch. Good for a relaxing week away from work, but I don’t think we would return, Iberostar Playa Blanca offers far superior rooms and quality dining.

Another fantastic holiday at this hotel,our fourth visit. We upgraded to Star Prestige and it was worth it. The infinity pool and separate bar and snack area was fantastic. The staff here are amazing. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary during our stay so I emailed the reception and they arranged for a beautiful bouquet from a local florist to be in our room when we arrived as a surprise for my wife. I had mentioned the actual date of our anniversary but was amazed when they had remembered and dressed the room with rose petals and champagne and chocolates. We have also stayed in the five star next door but we prefer this hotel. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and we will be back soon

Second time here this year and still rate this hotel very highly. Staff really good and very helpful (Sabrina at reception is a star). Great food choices and the lunch time poolside restaurant is very good if you dont fancy the main buffet. Could fo with a few more premium drinks on the list but still quite good. Enjoyed sufficiently to book up for January again.

Excellent staff very well trained Excellent hotel at times the food was exceptional Will certainly return this was my fourth visit On reflection one of the most impressive aspects was how efficient and helpful the staff were Maybe a bit more seafood in the main restaurant as prawns were few and far between

Absolutely satisfied about this hotel. Although a big hotel we never got the feeling that it was overcrowded. - Hotel: situated directly at the beach. 24-hrs reception desk. Staff is multi-lingual - Amenities: Restaurant with wide choice of food/dishes. Tapas bar/resto with local food. Bar with the usual alcoholic drinks & cocktails. Several swimming pools (two are heated). Spa & fitness facilities. Children's playground. - Room: Big enough for family of 3. Daily cleaned. Minibar available if wanted (to be ordered). Flatscreen sat-TV. Balcony with partial sea-view. What we liked and appreciated most was the catching enthusiasm of the entertainment team. We especially would like to thank Julio, Nerea, Alba, Judith, Samuel, Joyce and all the others we forgot to make the holiday of us and foremost our daughter unforgettable!! To finalise: absolutely recommended!

We have been to Fuerteventura at least ten times over the last twenty years, usually for a winter sunshine break, and to date have always stayed at the same hotel -Melia Fuerteventura, Playa Sotavento, which clearly we have enjoyed. The hotel was unavailable this year due to refurbishment and so we thought we would try somewhere different. This turned out to be a great decision as the Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas proved to be an excellent alternative. Great location, wonderful vista, excellent accommodation and superb food and drink. Staff were extremely polite and helpful and the hotel itself exceptionally clean. My wife and I enjoyed our stay so much that we have definitely added Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas to our ‘return to’ list.
