We booked our stay few months ago basing on localisation by Jandia beach, reviews and also our amazing experience we had from our last year holidays at Barceló Tenerife- that time we were guests of 5* hotel AI however not Royal Level. We decided this year to go for RL experience as we regretted last year we did not went to upgrade. No words to describe our dissatisfaction. Barceló Tenerife was worth every penny we paid for our stay, however we can not say same about our stay at Occidental Royal Level at Fuerteventura, very disappointed. Service- communication, language barrier-not many employee’s speak English - this brings miss understanding and poor service at the end…. For example Problem to order coffee with alternative milk or any type of eggs like scramble eggs. When asking for coffee sachets housekeeping they asking to call reception, once they have that on trolley. Cleaning - in the restaurant - morning buffet - been a first person for breakfast, seen dirty tongs in use from the day before (dinner) with sauces on it. Food overall really good, sometimes to salty and oily however many choices of meat and fish. Good to see hotel working toward waste not idea, however serving 3 times a day same cheese from morning, lunch and dinner with visible time marked on them it is something not good. Not enough people to serve, waiting time for drinks and take away dirty plates. Waitress in la carte restaurant did not informed us wine will be extra charged. Once we check out we have been asked to pay bill, when I mention that to receptionist she got offended, left us by RL reception desk saying she will be back in the moment - she brought from main reception documents to prove us wrong, showing us we have been charged by restaurant and my partner signed that bill- showing aggressively (finger pointing ) signature, while there was no price on that bill and my partner was not even knowing what he is signing. Also was not only us who got surprised by signing something before leaving la carte restaurant that evening. Our mistake we did not double check that. Receptionist had no understanding and got very quickly impolite. Once I mentioned I will formally complain she said “no problem, do it” wow wow wow I Have never experience poor service like that especially for Barceló group which keeps high standards of service - as I mentioned we stayed in other hotel of Barceló group in Tenerife and we were extremely happy with our stay. I explained the lady that our complain is general complain not only regarding bill, but also other points mention above, adding another point that we were not informed once check in that terrace on RL with another pool and jacuzzi is out of order due renovation and that we might Experience noise. Lady said it is not their fault- this should be done by EasyJet- and this is their problem. Which I do not agree, yes they could inform us before arriving, however I strongly believe person who is checking in should double check if guests kno

This was our first holiday to Fuerteventura and the Occidental Jandia Royal Level was recommended to us by a friend. We were not disappointed. The hotel is located within walking distance to Jandia beach, which we visited on a couple of occasions. Beds in the rooms are extremely comfortable and the rooms have all amenities that you need. Breakfast is varied and plentiful in the Restaurant Atlantico, where you can also have your lunch and a buffet evening meal. We ate on 4 occasions at the Patio Canario Restaurant, which is a la carte and again, like the Restaurant Atlantico, is for Royal Level guests only. The a la carte does different food theme nights 5 times a week. You can have drinks afterwards in the Green Bar, which offers a wide selection of premium drinks (great if you are inclusive, which we were) and is again for Royal Level guests only. The absolute highlight for me and the best thing about the hotel are the staff. The staff in both restaurants that we ate in, along with those in the Green Bar, always have a smile on their face and are clearly enjoying their jobs. This shows the excellent management ethos in customer service. There are 2 people that I would particularly like to thank. Firstly, at check in, Marianna informed us that we were being offered a room upgrade on our third day. The room was probably one of the best that we have ever stayed in with excellent amenities. Secondly, a big thank you to Diana, who ensured that the room was ready as soon as possible for our move on the third day. Again, thank you both so much. You can tell how much we loved the place - we have booked to again in May 2025 and hopefully will spend many more relaxing holidays in this wonderful hotel.

Just got back from 5 night and would highly recommend this resort. Royal level really did feel like a great upgrade and made you feel special. The drinks were outstanding, all premium drinks and no expense spared. Cocktail menu was good. Staff were all super helpful and very friendly. Everyone put in loads of effort to make you feel welcome and we didn’t encounter one person who didn’t seem really happy to be working there. The food was only thing I feel could have been improved slightly as the royal level buffet was a bit mix match and hot plates didn’t really seem to keep food very hot. But we did find something nice each mealtime. We didn’t manage to try the a la carte but could have booked if we wanted. Royal level pool was freezing but the smaller jacuzzi pool was great temperature. We did wander around the rest of the resort but stayed to the royal level areas mainly as they were really peaceful and quiet. Loads of sunbeds available all day and even used cabanas some days. Never a fight for a bed and did feel exclusive and not overcrowded. Beach lovely and great little town walking distance with good selection of shops. Our room Had fantastic pool and sea view and bed was really big and comfortable. Every where felt clean and tidy, All in all a great resort and would highly recommend.

This hotel.needs a complete refurbishment and is no more than 3 star. Some of the facilities are not open or do not exist and the condition of the terracing and restaurant decking us dangerous at best. The buffet food is always cold ,but the staff who are excellent do their best. Getting into the pool is a nightmare with wobbly steps and broken decking. We complained to the jet2 rep and hotel.management but quite honestly do not spend a lot of money on a poor tired establishment. Many reviews are good but cannot understand why . The photos inches brochure do not represent the hotel of today as I am sure some years ago it was good. The best part was the Green bar which was great. Avoid if you want quality and comfort

Staff, room and pool area (Royal Level adults only), drinks including cocktails, breakfast & lunch were all 10/10. It was very odd therefore that the A La Carte restaurant, which should have been their jewel in the crown in terms of food, was a definite 0/10. The food was a 0/10 and sometimes completely inedible. We kept going back at first because the nationality of the cuisine changed every night and we thought it might get better but it never did. In the end we simply gave up and went to the buffet. If this was rectified this hotel would be a gem and it's a simple problem to fix.

We first visited for a week (Christmas 2011) and absolutely loved the place. We enjoyed it so much that we've regularly talked about it ever since. I decided to book a week as a surprise for my husband's birthday present, but was a bit nervous that we'd maybe exaggerated how much we loved it and could be disappointed. I shouldn't have worried though: it was even better! The Royal Level has been expanded (love the cocktail lounge!) and just makes it the perfect place for us to escape - we're rebooking for next year as soon as the flights show on the site!

I have visited this hotel with many of my family over the years and continued to go back hoping our issues could be resolved. I have said on many occasions the staff are welcoming, the food quality is good, however the main and most important issue surrounding this hotel is thier inability to solve thier food hygiene standards, which comes up time and time again as a major issue. The food is almost certainly lukewarm to cold at times, and despite pointing this out to marriane at reception on many occasions, nothing is ever resolved, which is frustrating when management are unable to fix this simple problem. My husband became unwell on return from this holiday in January 2024. Recently I heard a gentleman had died after staying at this hotel and the cause was salmonella poisoning, this is a tragedy that could have been avoided. My advice stay clear

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last few years. The hotel is nicely located and the rooms are spacious with a good sea view. It's never been perfect but unfortunately the standards at the hotel seem to have deteriorated recently in that it no longer represents the Royal Level quality and luxury experience you would expect for the price. Swimming pools and jacuzzi are cold. Rooms are nice but bathrooms are tired and worn as are all of the towels and robes provided. Minibar (All Inc) used to be stocked daily but now only once at the start of the stay. WIFI is poor and intermittent. The worst part is that in the main restaurant (Atlantico) the food is nearly always luke warm and the choice of vegetable and fruit is particularly poor. At breakfast the eggs are cooked to order but it takes ages to get someone to cook them and it seemed impossible to co-ordinate our breakfasts so that we could eat together. Its not a 4 star restaurant and certainly not Royal Level. Staff are generally pleasant and helpful but on our last stay there were a few changes in personnel and the service was not to the standard we have received before. We have raised some of these issues with the management in the past but nothing seems to change In summary, no showstoppers and no individual issues to completely spoil our holiday but standards continue to drop in many respects and this hotel no longer offers value for money. We are not sure we would stay again unless there are significant changes. We use Barcelo hotels regularly and now believe that other Adult Only hotels in the Canary Islands offer better quality and value than Jandia Playa Royal Level. Barcelo Corralejo Bay, Barcelo Costa Teguise and Barcelo Margaritas are a better option.
