Xenia hotel

The hotel is conveniently located in a lively city area, surrounded by restaurants and office buildings. However, the decor throughout the hotel, including the room, feels quite old-fashioned and dated. Communication was a bit challenging because the Korean front desk staff didn’t speak English, and my Korean is very limited, so I had to rely on Google Translate. Later on, I found out that some of the staff were from China and assumed I spoke Chinese, so they talked to me in Chinese right away. Both the TV and AC remotes in the room were only in Korean, and instructions in Chinese were available at the front desk. It seems that the hotel mainly caters to Chinese-speaking guests. I ended up using Google Translate again to figure things out.

Room wasn’t clean with clumps of ladies hair in the room and bathroom. One Tile outside the bathroom was dislodged and made a hollow sound when stepped on. 2 out of 3 Power sockets in the room were not working. This Hotel caters to Chinese tourists, as the staff here speak Mandarin as well. This is the equivalent of a 2-3 star local hotel. Nowhere near the 3 star Ibis equivalent that I am familiar with.

The place is in need of a renovation but the room was very spacious, probably because we booked the one with the bathtub. It has a nice room, a living room attached and the bathroom was big. But a bit lacking on the amenities.. Not a spoon, or even a glass where to keep to the toothbrush. No breakfast available or even an umbrella to borrow. On the bright side the room was clean and spacious.
