2-Star Hotels in Jianchuan

I had a fantastic stay at Yingju Inn. The hotel is located in the most central place of Shaxi village. But more importantly, the manager was very helpful and professional. She speaks perfectly English and was able to help me for many things. She indicated me all the sights to visit in the area, and she booked my bus for me. It worth to be noticed, because after almost one month in China, it was the first time that I had a hotel with an English-speaking staff.

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed! The rooms are spacious, beautiful and clean, with good sized bathrooms. The courtyard is a peaceful and relaxing place. The breakfast is also filling and well prepared. The boss was the most helpful and accommodating host and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and to arrange transport for our sight seeing and onward journey. We even shared some tea in the evening, getting to know each other better. The location is also perfect, close to the centre of the magical ancient town. Myself and my partner cannot recommend this guesthouse enough! If you no visit Shaxi, you must stay here!

👉This is an ancient house of the Bach ethnic group, about 200 years old, renovated and put into business. The house is located in the heart of Sa Khe ancient town, less than 100 meters from the ancient stage and the Yujin stone bridge, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, handicraft shops... The front of the hotel is for renting and selling costumes, inside is a quiet yard and covered with stone lotus flowers, the space is very airy and quiet. I booked a room on the 2nd floor, the room is small, pretty and clean, fully equipped, with a small yard in front of the door, in the morning you can sip a cup of tea to welcome the early morning sun, at night you can sit and eat fried mushrooms and sip a cup of local plum wine, a true feeling of rest. The hotel has a separate kitchen and laundry room for guests, if you want you can cook and do laundry here. 👉The hotel owner is an elderly and extremely funny person. I went for many days so I brought quite a lot of luggage. However, the owner was very happy to help me carry my luggage from the town gate to my room. (Vehicles are not allowed in the old town, so the owner helped me push my luggage from the gate. All the roads in the town are paved with stone, so you can't pull your luggage and need a special cart. So if you book a room here, contact the owner before coming for help). 👉The price of the room I booked on the 2nd floor was about 1 million VND/night, and I was completely satisfied with this price with all the emotions it brought. I only stayed for 2 nights, but the owner was extremely enthusiastic from the first day to the last day, helping me book a car back to Lijiang, and even giving me a souvenir with the promise that even if I brought more luggage next time, he would still happily welcome me. 🤣🤣 👉Sa Khe ancient town is one of the extremely well-preserved ancient sites in Yunnan province. If Lijiang is likened to a fairy with a splendid and proud beauty, then Sa Khe is a quiet and fragile beauty in the wind. Coming here, you will naturally feel life slow down, allowing yourself to be a little lazy, a little gentle with yourself. If I have the chance, I will definitely stay in Sa Khe longer!

I’ll give it a five-star rating because the price is really hard to find anywhere else in the ancient town. Being the first youth hostel is something that’s cherished, and providing cost-effective accommodation for backpackers may also be the original intention of the store. The environment of the small courtyard is very good. There is an electric blanket, so it is not cold when sleeping. I haven't lived in a dormitory for several years, and I relived the feeling of going to school again.

As soon as you enter the main entrance, the layout of the bonsai in the courtyard can be seen that the owner is extremely cherished! The boss especially emphasizes that everyone should take care of the children. The implication is not to destroy the potted plants haha 😄! The room is spacious and very clean! Especially there is an oversized balcony to dry clothes, we have a wave of people to wash out the ones that have not been washed a few days ago! Comfortable!

Great location and beautiful house with lovely courtyard. The staff is very helpful and booked a ride to Lijiang for us. The only minus for us was not having a westernstyle Toilet in our room. Nevertheless a truly wonderful guesthouse, very much to recommend.

We decided to go to Shaxi on the spur of the moment. The aunt who shared a car with us booked this hotel. We quickly checked and found that there was still a room. The location was in a windy place. We walked a little further from the door where Xu Hongdou broke her phone when she first entered the town. Sister Ahe in the post station was very enthusiastic. She took us to the places we wanted to go, introduced us to delicious food, picked us up, and helped us carry our luggage when we left. Their house was the cleanest and most satisfactory one for us to stay in Dali. In the evening, I sat in the yard with my friends who were destined to drink tea and chat. If you go to Shaxi, I recommend staying here.

Very quiet courtyard. Convenient to travel, there is a free parking lot at the door. It takes only a few minutes to walk from the courtyard to the ancient town. The owner is very hospitable. He came out to greet us when we first arrived and helped with the luggage. The room has air conditioning and plenty of hot water. This time I booked a family suite, which has a small living room, spacious space, good hygiene, comfortable mattress, and high cost performance. I stayed for four nights and was very satisfied.

這個民宿的體驗感相當舒服，真的就像在自己家裡一樣。首先衞生超讚，進屋後全域檢查，可以説一塵不染。其次，衞生間挺大的，衞浴用品還是屈臣氏。然後院落不大不小很乾凈，幾顆石榴樹，桃樹，剛剛好遮住了驕陽，但又讓陽光灑滿地。還有一個淺淺的池塘，池塘邊是一個露天的茶室。廚房挺大的，可以自己開伙，一進門還有一個書房，站在2樓視野遠眺，民宿位置在小鎮北古宗街，出行到寺登街3分鐘。這裏夏天的天氣不要看天氣預報，不準確。報的中雨，還是有太陽，白天短衣短褲，晚上最多長衣長褲。老闆娘很温柔，很友善，還有一衹可愛的明星小🐶，沙溪因為統一規劃的問題，停車場在鎮外，最近的私人停車場離民宿有3分鐘的石板路。

We booked a double bed, but the boss reminded us that there would be a market on Sunday morning and our room would be a bit noisy. We could be upgraded to a room on the other side of the third floor, so what we actually experienced was a double bed room on the third floor. The rooms are all antique and made of solid wood. There is no air conditioning, but it is not hot in Jianchuan at the end of June. It will be a bit cold at night. Just turn on the fan when it is the hottest in the afternoon. There is no screen in the room, so mosquitoes can easily come in. The hotel provides mosquito coils, but occasionally I still get bitten. The sound insulation is very good, the neighborhood is quiet, and there is not much noise. The location is good and convenient to go everywhere. There is no separation of dry and wet areas in the bathroom, so it would be difficult to take a shower and there would be water everywhere. The pillows are a bit hard. I personally like soft and thin pillows, so I don't sleep very comfortably. Those who like firm pillows may adapt well.
