The Ajit Bhawan - A Palace Resort

Because of the wedding, it was very noisy until late . Otherwise, friendly staff and nice service.

I visited Ajit Bhavan for dinner on our last night in Jodhpur and what a treat it was. We had stayed in their sister property in Rawla Nirlai for 4 nights before arriving in Jodhpur and that was one of the highlights of our 6 week trip in India. We felt we had to visit Ajit Bhavan after the exquisite stepwell dinner experience in Narlai, which is a once in a lifetime unique outdoor authentic Rajasthani dining experience. The evening surpassed my expectations. We had dinner in the garden, and arrived just as the folk singers and dancing group started their act on the lawn facing the tables. In between the singing, a traditional puppet show entertained us. The ambience was perfect with subtle lighting of the trees and walls of the royal residence. The service and hospitality by Bhum Singh was excellent and he guided us on menu choices. I opted for a traditional rajasthani dish, although the dining options were plentiful in terms of continental, Chinese, Thai and even fish and chips! The food was delicious finished with a mango ice cream which I relished. We booked our stay in the old city of Jodhpur to be near the fort, however, on visiting Ajit Bhavan, we did feel that we had made a mistake and would have loved to have stayed here. It is secluded from the constant noise, rubbish and incessant traffic as well as the calls to prayer from the mosque, and is a tastefully lighted oasis just outside the city. If we ever have the opportunity to come to Jodhpur, we will be heading to Ajit Bhavan for our stay for sure.

The hotel’s complimentary breakfast was excellent. The spread was fresh, diverse, and delicious, with both Indian and continental options. Service was prompt and the staff ensured everything was well-stocked. A great start to the day with Aam Singh at our great service!

Bhom Singh - he is a true gem. He took care of us and served us specialties with a small explanation at table service. Food was fresh and delicious

A beautiful hotel in the centre of Jodhpur. We stayed in one of the Vintage Tent rooms which was really quite quirky and made for a pleasant change from standard hotel rooms. They are not really tents, but have been designed to give the feeling of staying in a tent. We had two excellent dinners plus breakfasts at the hotel all of which were excellent.
