Hotels near Sculpture Susi Kosiomatkalla, Joensuu

Joensuu was not our destination but a place to stop for the night on our self drive route. We had been paying an average of $200 USD a night at Finland hotels. What a pleasure to come across Greenstar hotel! About $100 with a nice room and free parking. Front desk staff was very nice and she recommended a great restaurant walking distance from the hotel. There was construction going on in the street so we asked for a quiet room in the back which was in reality very quiet. Highly recommend.

The location of the hotel is very good, out of the train station, crossing the bridge and walking less than fifteen minutes. There is a bus stop at the door, which is convenient for travel. The rooms are large, clean and have a sauna to experience the Finnish lifestyle. Breakfast is good and the hotel also serves lunch and dinner. Shopping malls, supermarkets and restaurants in the central area are very close and convenient.

A boutique apartment hotel right in the heart of Joensuu. Lovely details with Karelian touches. Have visited Lietsu several times and going to return this summer. All pros: - So friendly staff / owners. - Every room is furnished in a different way with local art or history pieces on the walls. Once we even had a rocking chair in our room! - Please note that Lietsu is an aparthotel so the rooms have washing machines, little kitchenettes etc. - The breakfast is good, but can also buy food from a local shop and make your own breakfast. Both options are good. - Very good sauna, comes with the room price. - Bathrooms are ok, not the best, not the worst. Woodio washbasins are cool. - Easy parking. - Good beds. - Never disappoints!

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is situated between the railway station, the bus station, River Pielisjoki and Park Sirkkalan Puisto. The riverside park is a nice picnic area with tables and benches. There are even fishing possibilities there but notice restriction areas. However, walking distance to the city center and all main attractions is very short. It is also possible to rent Jopo bikes from the hotel. Also electric city scooters are often available in front of the hotel. Our standard room was very nice. We had good beds, an armchair, a big flat-screen television, a self-adjustable air-conditioning system, a ventilation window with an insect net and an empty refrigerator (no minibar). However, the refrigerator was quite loud. Our bathroom was OK but the shower wall was too short. Water came under it and watered the whole bathroom while showering. Breakfast was good. I especially loved local specialties, that is to say Karelian rice pastries and banana-chocolate cake by a local bakery. The breakfast room was so big that there wasn't any congestion there. Park view was very nice. The dinner restaurant of the hotel is good, too. It is also possible to take a drink on the large summer terrace. We didn't test the pampering spa department because there is an admission fee there. Service was very kind in the whole hotel.

Beautiful secluded location with breathtaking views of the lake. Neat house with solid furnishings. Complete peace and privacy assured!
