Used to stay directly with The Straits' hotel for a year so can't help but to compare. More expensive by RM25/night than book directly with The Straits' hotel during my particular stay that week with much less amenities that usually provided by the The Straits (no shower kits - shampoo/toothbrush/toothpaste/razor/sewing kits - no coffee/tea/sugar/creamer - no facial tissue - no iron/iron board - no working table, no cooking utensil - pan, pot, laddle, hotpot, etc). However I notice that rates have been adjusted accordingly to be cheaper than the hotel. Maintenance of corridor area of residential area is not as well kept as the hotel's area. Expected. The deposit is RM150 upon checking in compare to RM50 if book directly with hotel management. Over all, I ll book again when the rate is cheaper than the hotel.
