This is a wild and interesting hotel. There are villa-style houses with two rooms in each building, by the water and on the hillside. It is pristine, with many ants and surrounded by tropical rainforest. The calls of black squirrels are like hornbills, and small green snakes hide in the bushes and leaves. It is my second time staying at Baan Maka Nature Lodge. Their service has been consistently impeccable. The service staff goes out of their way to ensure you are well taken care of during your stay with them. I had Beckham, their in-house guide and I would strongly recommend him for trips to Kaeng Krachan National Park. He can converse in English and is dedicated to what he does. The rooms at Baan Maka Nature Lodge vary based on the type of accommodations. However, they are consistently maintained adequately and provide an adequate comfortable reprieve after a full day out into the national park. You will get warm showers, air-conditioning and good wifi. However, the water pressure can be a little weak in some accommodations. Do say hi to Ian and Games when you pop by the lodge! They are the owners and are warm and welcoming! Do support their campaign against a mining company intending to buy lands nearby for mining.
