Céu Ceylon is a fantastic small hotel. The experience is like staying in a great private villa. There is an excellent pool and the beach location is fantastic. The team are superb and they looked after us incredibly well when an issue came up. We would highly recommend

This hotel is hands down one of the best we’ve stayed at in all our travels around the world. From the moment we arrived, it’s been a true 5-star experience—especially the service. The team here goes above and beyond, providing such personalized and professional care that it feels like they’re setting a new standard in hospitality. Even though we’re here during the off-season and practically have the place to ourselves, the staff treats every moment like it's peak time, making sure our stay is nothing short of memorable. The level of personalized service is something we’ve never experienced before, and the food? Absolutely fantastic. Dinner was prepared just for us, and it was truly excellent—a delicious touch that added even more to the experience. If you’re looking for a place that combines luxury, privacy, and unforgettable service, this is the place to be!

This hotel redefines luxury in the most incredible way! From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for by an exceptionally attentive and professional team. The personal touch they bring to every interaction is something we haven’t encountered anywhere else in our travels. Staying here in the off-season almost feels like we have the whole place to ourselves, but that hasn’t slowed down the team one bit—they go out of their way to make our stay extraordinary. And the dining experience? Absolutely amazing! Dinner was prepared just for us, and the dish was delicious. For anyone seeking a luxurious, personalized getaway, this is truly the perfect destination.

An ultimate relaxation in this excellent boutique hotel, one of my favourites one in Sri Lanka. The hotel is situated at the miles-long natural and quiet beach. The views from the room are breathtaking, especially with the colours of green grass and blue water in the direct sunlight. The rooms are carefully cleaned and maintained and the service is impeccable (like in a 5-star hotel). You get all the attention needed from the amazing stuff who try to make you stay memorable and relaxing. The food is exceptional, you can order even daily fish catch on request :) The breakfast and dinner setting is always fantastic view and amazing plant and flower decorations :) I will recommend and we stay again. Thank you Céu Ceylon

We stayed at the small boutique hotel for 3 nights, which was the perfect length of time for this quiet area. The hotel garden overlooks a stunning treelined long beach which stretches on for many kilometres and is mostly deserted, where you can hear the roar of the ocean The hotel is spotlessly clean, with anytime dining including breakfast. The rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished and decorated. The team were very gracious at all times and went out of their way to meet our requests for specific food and drinks during our stay

We went to Ceu Ceylon for a family getaway with 3 generations of our family (grandparents, parents, kids) - 7 adults, 4 kids. We booked the entire villa (with access to 4 of the 5 rooms). All in all we had an amazing time. The location was excellent, with a broad beach frontage and a truly pristine beach all to ourselves (Kalametiya beach is very quiet). The pool is the centerpiece and when you are in it, you feel close to the ocean, whilst being right next to those sitting in the verandah. Mayanthi (the owner) was very clear and prompt with her communication - with plentiful information on what to do in the area. 2 highlights were the Kalametiya boat trip (approx Rs.6500 for 4 people) and the late night Rekawa Turtle Safari, which was in season and where we got to respectfully watch giant green turtles laying eggs (Rs.1000 for an international guest, Rs.250 for a local guest). The villa consists of one suite and 4 very similar sized rooms (2 upstairs, 2 on the ground floor). We predominantly used the ground floor - with the living room arranged around a very deep and cosy couch. The suite is very spacious. The other rooms are very comfortable and well sized for a typical double. If you try and make a triple out of a normal room - it would certainly be possible, but wouldn't leave you with much other space. For my infant son there was a very good mothercare travel cot which we were very happy with. We had brought a travel cot with us just in case, but that certainly wasn't needed. One important point to add is that the finishes in the rooms and the bathrooms are to a very high standard, with nothing over the top, with things being muted and tasteful - which we were very happy to both see and enjoy. The meals across breakfast, lunch and dinner were of a good standard. Maybe the one thing that could have improved is the variety of food during lunch - but that was only something we felt on our final day - and it wasn't a big issue. Having taken a peek into the kitchen, you can see that the operation is managed very professionally and the standards are more in keeping with a boutique hotel than a small private villa. As we were a big group, the food could sometimes take a little more time than we anticipated - but that also wasn't an issue, but something to be a little aware of and plan around if having something bang on time is essential for you. The lawns around the villa were fun to play games on with kids - which was an additional treat. Just between the lawn, the beach (we took some beach toys), the pool and some board games (which we took along ourselves), our children had a super time. Last but not least, the staff were tremendously courteous and obliging. Every request was met with a smile and a desire to accommodate. All in all, I would highly recommend Ceu Ceylon. It is a comfortable highway journey away from Colombo / the Airport and for a 3 night stay, it proved to be a lovely getaway.

Brilliant location with outstanding kitchen and extra ordinary staff. Nothing not to like! Great base for inspiring daytrips . We stayed at Ceu Ceylon for 10 days. The hotel, or for us family the house, is absolutely stunning. The rooms are beautifull and contemporary, you can’t not like this. The beds appeared hard but were very comfortable. The garden , the pool, the terraces, everything is breathtaking and beyond our ability to capture a picture. The sound of the waves breaking the shore is mesmerizing and really allows you to relax. The best about Ceu Ceylon however are the owners and its staff. Nothing is to much for them, and it is almost like they have an AI algorythm built in, because they almost always seem to know exactly what we need right before we ask them. We booked with breakfast and diner, and I would advise anyone to do just the same. The menu itsself is great, but you can ask for anything, and if they can, they will fix it. Kasun (the chef) and his team are working miracles from the kitchen that will make you remember Sri Lanka for a long time to come. We would also like to give special attention to Raja, the sweetest man alive, always actually running to serve our needs as good as he can, but not before giving you the warmest smile possible. We were invited by the owners to join the new years ceremony ‘boiling the milk’ which was not only very nice, but we felt honoured to be part of it. We are sure that any prosperity that comes to us in 2023 finds its origin here 😉. Is there anything not to like about Ceu Ceylon? Only thing that comes to mind is that you never stay long enough!
