This spacious home is designed with modern conveniences woven into the original mid-century feel. A great home-base for exploring the amazing surrounding areas, this home also doubles as a comfortable and convenient place to work online. Centered in a quiet, residential neighborhood, enjoy the convenience of walking (or taking a very quick drive) to all amenities. This space is ideal for guests who are looking for 2 seperate spaces that can be joined together. This rental has two side-by-side units in the house that can be separated by a door in the hallway, or the door can be left open to connect the units. The larger unit features vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams, electric fireplace, wifi, projector, work space, a full kitchen and plenty of natural light! The home features local history as well, being built by Kaibab Industries and using a piece of sandstone as the hearth of the fireplace. The kitchen features original metal cabinet bases with modern stainless steel appliances, and the den is wrapped in pine harvested from the Kaibab. It still has the Nu-Tone grill and hood (for decorative purposes only). A triple glass slider off the den provides tons of natural light and connection to the fenced backyard. There is a large bedroom with a king-size bed and plenty of storage. A bathroom off of the hallway features a full tub. The smaller unit contains a bedroom, lounge/kitchenette and a small bathroom with a shower. The lounge contains a closet, a futon (folds down to a small single bed - 5'5" long), a dining area and a kitchenette. The kitchenette features a small sink, cook top, microwave, mini fridge, toaster and coffee maker. A glass slider off the bedroom (which can be used as an entrance/exit) provides tons of natural light and connection to the fenced backyard. The house was built in 1957 as a single-family residence and as such has limited sound insulation between the two units. Each unit has its own driveway and private entrance on opposite sides of the house. The laundry room and backyard are accessible by both units. The house has electric heat for use during the colder months and an evaporative cooler in the larger unit, an AC in the smaller unit, for use during the warmer months. Tall mature trees add to the serenity of this historical gem. Please note that this house is located in a rural, desert town. Although both units in the house are thoroughly cleaned after each check-out and the house is treated by pest control every other month (safe for humans), it may be possible that guests will occasionally encounter insects such as flies, spiders, beetles and elm bugs (who also enjoy the large old-growth trees). Since cockroaches are attracted to human food, we keep the trash cans in the house small, so that trash has to be taken out to the larger bin in the driveway daily. Also to note is that the neighbors have dogs in their yard who sometimes bark. A video tour is available immediately upon booking. Guests have access to the entire home, including laundry room located in the carport. There is both a projector with Amazon Firestick and a TV with Amazon Firestick located in the den. An Amazon account is required to use either of those devices. A Vizio Smart TV is located in the suite bedroom. Some apps on this device are free, others (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc) require a log-in. Safety Hazards for Children: -Cleaning products stored in lower cabinets. -Electrical outlets uncovered. -Furniture not secured to walls. -Back deck made of older wood (possible splinters). -Back yard gate unlocked (easy to open, leads to street). Packages arriving via USPS will be held at the Kanab post office. Packages delivered by Amazon/UPS/FedEx are left by the front door of the house. Your host lives blocks away and is available to answer any questions or address any concerns via VRBO message.
