Family-friendly Hotels in Kanchipuram

The Intercontinental brand is renowned as a top class business brand and this was our first stay at at a 'Resort' designation. I can report that this hotel fully lives up to the high reputaion of the brand. It is very much preferable to stay here than in the polluted mayhem of Chennai itself. The commute to the city is about an hour but as a tourist, one is most likely to wish to see the interesting sites in Chennai itself within a single day. with planning and a reasonably early start this is quite possible. Mahabalipuram is 15 minutes away and there are other sites of interest around. After the long flight from the UK and making allowances for jet lag, I would say a five night stay is about right for the property. Although this depends on your budget and planned level of activity. If you review the IHG/hotel website you will discover there are rooms categorised as 'Sea View with Balcony'. I strongly recommend this grade of room. They are very highly spec'd and offer a restful balconied view over the gardens towards the sea. Additionally this grade of room does offer access to the Club room which offers a two hour hospitality period every evening which was a delight. Do be sure you qualify for this when making your reservation. For India, this hotel is expensive. But coming from Europe, never mind the USA, taking the standards of service and quality of the accommodation into ccount, we felt the tarrif was worth it. The staff work very hard to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Join the IHG loyalty club! One snag. I did have a problem with a couple of emails going amiss prior to our stay. Is this just 'India'? Maybe.

Had a very nice time in MGM right from enquiry till the end of the program the journey was very smooth. Special thanks to Geetha from the sales team, who made the journey very smooth. She is very good in negotiations and she closed the deal in win win situation for both the parties. Her hospitality, care and courtesy was awesome. A well mannered person with a lots of smile on her face. She answered all our queries with a lot of patience and smile. A very good sales professional. The service team was also awesome and the quality of food was very good. The chef's menu was very good and all the taste buds very completely satisfied. The service provided by Srinivasan of operations team was awesome. The overall experience at MGM Resorts was excellent and will be remembered for a long time. MGM Resorts is a real value for money.

Wow this is one of the best staycation I have had till now. Mr Santhosh , Mr Anand, Ms Anagha and Jijo front staffs and leaders were at their best in Customer Service. One of the best food I have had and I am not exaggerating, everyone must experience the food from Chef Vijay sir and team. And what a service in the restraunt by Srihari. This entire team deserve a great applause.

Stayed here for a night during a visit to the Sri Adi Keshava perumal temple in Sriperumbudur. The hotel is slightly off the highway and is about 15 kms before Sriperumbudur arch when travelling towards Chennai on NH48. The road from the highway to the hotel is potholed. The surroundings are like a mini forest. Room was spacious, has a kettle, milk/coffee/tea pouches. The restaurant is veg and non-veg. For lunch, they said they only have rice items (fried rice, biryani etc.). Would be good if they serve south indian food as well. Room service and housekeeping needs to improve. Requested for normal filtered drinking water since we do not use the bottled bilseri type water. The housekeeping said that room service would give and the room service said that the housekeeping would give. Finally, went to the restaurant and asked them to send a jug of water. Parking for about 5 to 6 cars is available in the premises. For those travelling on the highway, there a multitude of flyovers coming up on NH48. There are diversions and dividers have been removed. Drive carefully

Kids swimming pool area not working, that is the main facility to visit comparing with other resorts, we spent two days for that. But management said (just two hours sir. Just one day sir, next day it will be ready sir) but that facility was not ready when we were checking out. But 11. 45 am they called us to remind that we have to check out at 12pm but no info about swimming pool. After we checked out and brought all our luggages to reception they said swimming pool was ready. My kids very very upset and disappointed and literally started crying.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE It is unfortunate that I have to write this review for Green Cocunut,..well situated in the ECR, closer to my daughter wedding venue Dakshin Chitra, and it so happened it just turneda NIGHTMARE for me. We almost booked the entire property for the wedding weekend and it turned sore and disgusting experience. 1. LIFT WAS NOT WORKING- we booked 24 deluxe rooms for elders in family and relatives and they were forced to climb with luggage to upper floors. Despite the manager Charles telling it will be rectified, nothing happened till the guests left. False promises only added fuel to the fire 2. FLUSH Not working in few rooms. Nightmare for guests to realize that flush is not working after the bathroom usage. They had to carry water from Washbain for toilet usage which turned horrible 3. AC Not working - 2 rooms had AC issues and it was not fixed despite repeated requests 4. HOT WATER NOT AVAILABLE. We paid more that 5k per night for all rooms and the solar water heater went for a toss and my guests ended up in cold water on the wedding day. It was super bad experence 5. BUGS found in Bed: Atleast 3 rooms reported bugs in the bed which could have turned a mess had the guests suffered any bites 6. BIG NO NO Issue- One of our elderly guests requested for an additional bed and they simply went and put the same using the duplicate key as my guests were at the reception. Tresspassing into the hotel room in absence of guests is a sure NO NO. The guests had silk sarees, jewels and bags in the room and they were shocked to note that someone entered when they were away and had something gone missing, it would have been a mess. They dont even know who went and the security is a big issue I made a mistake of booking this place for one of the best events of our lives and I regret. In case you are looking for this place, please be aware and dont end up paying so much for a place that is not worthy. Greenary, the ambience, and location is great,..but service is the worst. I regret writing this even for it just made me so anxious during the wedding taking care of the guests. NOT WORTH the Money I paid!!!!

Amazing staying and cultured based property and very decorative. Just opposite side to beach and located in mahabalipuram. Rooms are really spacious and will recomend my friends and family to experience if they travel. Coffee was really excellent.

rooms are neat and clean... resort is safe and best place for couples and families... food is also good and 😋 tasty... staff are nice so kind and friendly... i have one small suggestion change the check in time because after noon 2 pm is too long, if the customer reach the resort before please allow them and arrange the room asap... overall it's good and nice...😊😊😊👍👍👍

Life is good here of course we faced ac in the room is not working and had trouble all ***** the night. We informed staff. They are helpful but could not able to solve it the hotel is clean and very nicely managed
