This charming and intimate boutique hotel was a great anchor accommodation for 4 days of touring Sigiriya, Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. The pool was fabulous, staff became familiar with us and consistently exceeded expectations. Room was clean and spacious. Air conditioning worked great and was appreciated since it rained most everyday, a nice reprieve from the hot sticky outdoors… We enjoyed our breakfasts of delicious Sri Lankan omelettes, fresh fruits and breads. (Ask for Sri Lankan heat in omelettes if you like spicy, which we do!) We ate dinner at the hotel 3 nights—all were very good. They offer a varied menu with nightly specials. Owner, Michelle, and all the staff made our stay very nice.

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Lodge. We were taken very good care of, particularly with my food intolerances by the amazing chef. The setting is very quiet, the pool was lovely and the location is close to the major attractions of Sigiriya, Pidurangala and the cave temple. We even spotted some giant squirrels in the trees. Thank you Michel and staff for a memorable stay.

We stayed here for three nights, and really enjoyed the experience. We were greeted by the owner, who made us feel welcome from the start. A lovely comfortable room, with a nice outlook and good facilities. What really set this place apart was the quality of the food, both in taste and presentation. They have an excellent chef, who came out afterwards to chat with guests, as did the owner. All the other staff were excellent too; friendly, efficient and professional. Holding the restaurant open a bit later than usual to accommodate our late arrival from watching the Slender Loris was really welcome! Small touches like the glasses of juice and some fruit brought to the room each evening before dinner, and the chocolates on the bed, really added to the overall experience. We didn't use the pool as we're not swimmers, but it looked really good Thoroughly recommended!

stayed here for 2 nights, very peaceful location by the lake. Great walks. Lovely rooms, we had 2 bedrooms for the 3 of us which was really nice. Very comfortable, friendly staff. Very helpful. it was nice to have breakfast out by the pool. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

Lake Lodge Hotel offers exceptional service by friendly and attentive staff, and owner. This was never more evident than at mealtimes when the best food we’ve tasted in Sri Lanka was served. The quality, variety and presentation were fantastic. Set in tranquil gardens the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We would love to return!

Booked hotel through luxurious Lanka - a great suggestion. Friendly helpful staff in an owner run hotel. Delicious meals- a wonderful chef! Comfortable rooms with a great views. Great pool - overall a perfect base for the cultural triangle.

To us Lake Lodge seemed a bit dated and tired, which could easily be modernised, especially the concrete tat littering the beautiful grounds. The biggest delight for us though was the food... EXQUISITE ... The service at mealtimes was excellent and the quality and variety served was the best we had on our whole 30 day holiday. We stayed for 6 nights and visited Popham's, Ritigala Monastery ruins, Kaudula Park and even a long drive to Wasgomuva Park, which is so less visited and full of birds. It is no boutique experience but has a charm all of its own with wonderful staff.

Lake Lodge Boutique Hotel is a hidden oasis of tranquility. From the stunning views to the beautifully designed rooms, every detail is thoughtfully curated for a perfect stay. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh, flavorful dishes that left us wanting more. The peaceful ambiance and serene surroundings made it the ideal place to unwind. We loved every moment and can’t wait to return!
