The Baron Hotel - Karbala

Our package was inclusive of all meals . The meals were good and had good variety . The chefs went out of their way to please . They have a bus every 30 minutes going to the holy shrine and similar one returning 24/7. However, the hotel seemed headless with no one really in charge . Simple things like asking for milk or milk powder in the room for the morning tea met with zero response . . We ordered and paid for chicken sandwiches to be carried with us to the airport on checkout . Imagine our consternation when we opened the boxes at the airport to find vegetable and cheese sandwiches which I could not eat due to allergy!

This was my third visit to the Baron Hotel. Unfortunately, the quality has declined noticeably. During check-in, the receptionist (a large man with a beard) made me wait for 30 minutes without a single word of apology or explanation. The room was not as clean as on previous stays. Upon check-out, Sara—the receptionist who speaks Farsi very well—made me wait 45 minutes to call a rental car, and in the end, she didn’t call it at all. It seems that the hotel is no longer managed by the same team as before, and the lack of proper management is quite evident. Pros: - The quality of breakfast and dinner is still as good as during my previous visits.

The best Hotel in Karbala At the onset, I would like to thank Mr. Tufeyl for organising our ziyarat trip with such perfection and in such a short time, looking after all our needs and making us feel very comfortable The rooms were spacious and comfortable with all amenities The meals were tasty with a good variety, special mention to chef Husain who was always ready to serve us, whatever we asked for? Sarfaraz was good at his services The shuttle service to the Haram was the plus point, it was very punctual and at frequent intervals Our stay at Baron hotel was a memorable one, and would love to return again for ziyarat

We were very happy to stay in this lovely sanctuary amongst the hustle and bustle near the haram. This is a very clean and beautiful hotel in Karbala. It's a 10 min shuttle ride to the haram of maula Hussain and Abbas. They have a 24 hour shuttle running frequently. One tip I recommend is always ask the driver where the pick up near the rozas will be as it changed multiple times when we were there. It can get very confusing if you are not familiar with the area. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. We felt like we were coming home each time. The buffets were delicious. Unfortunately most a la carte restaurants were closed and or have limited food due to Ramadan. They have wonderful amenities too like a swimming pool, kids park and gaming place. Nice for kids to get a break after ziyarat. A big shout out to Tufeyl the sales and marketing director who set everything up for us including airport transfer and ensured we got to our next destination safely. He really became like family for us. Zain ul Abideen at front desk was very helpful too answering questions and he spoke very good English. We will definitely recommend this place to all our friends and family. Another tip- For the women coming for Ziyarat, bring a big abaya. They are super strict at the haram.

A pleasant surprise staying at the Baron in Karbala. Clean, comfortable with excellent service. The rooms were spacious and very well appointed. There is a shuttle running to and from the shrines every thirty minutes with a five minute drive time to the ziarat. The breakfast was good with a wide array of options. The hotel arranged all our sightseeing tours to Baghdad, Babylon and the trip to Najaf. The staff, from the reception desk to the drivers that would take us around, everyone was super helpful and would go the extra mile to ensure we had a great trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Karbala.

This was my first trip to Karbala and to Iraq and I was not really sure what to expect. The hotel was pretty safe, modern and clean. The grounds were nice with trees, the rooms were really clean, modern and so were the bathrooms. We had an all inclusive package and food was brilliant. They had great Pakistani food along with middle eastern options. Salads, dessert, bread, Iraqi tea were fantastic. I took out one star because to go to the mausoleum area you had to take a shuttle. While the shuttle came every 30 minutes the convenience of walking was missing. It was not a big issue but during our visit there were a few million people there and the shuttle had to drop us a significant distance away and we had to walk through the mayhem. Overall very good option to stay if you visit Karbala
