Nice hotel in the heart of the city , easy to get from the train station to the hotel , also walking distance from karlsruhe schloss , staatliches museum , and Christmas market , located on the town Main Street that is full of shops , restaurants , its common to see people struggle with the check in process can be confusing and not for everyone so they should improve the check in machine

As central in Karlsruhe as it gets. Right by the Schloss and pyramid. There is karstad nearby with plenty of bars, bakeries, and restaurants. The rooms are hot in summer with noisy air-conditioning systems. Opening the windows can be annoying as you will get all the noise from the CBD!

The hotel is centrally located, but that proved to be its central drawback. With windows firmly shut and metal shudders lowered, amplified music outside continues to penetrate guest rooms late into the night. And with the windows shut, the rooms quickly become stuffy. I wouldn’t return here for that very reason. I frankly don’t understand why this noise is tolerated in what appears to be a cultured city.

Great location, comfortable and spacious room beautiful decoration impeccable housekeeping (bathroom shower and bath tube spotless) near the center but noise free (cute ear protection against noise but no need). Practical and fast electronic check in.

It is OK just for a short stay, but... -room is quite small and very single-like, meaning that it is also a single bed. These days when I travl alone, I expect a big bed even in a single room, and not a small single bed -toilet is so low is feels like a child´s toilet? A bit strange... -the look and feel of the room as a bit dated - old heating, brown curtains On the positive note, however, the location is really central with public transport and lots of shops nearby. But still quiet location, at least during the week. Hassle-free/easy check in via a terminal outside the hotel, very user friendly. Not a bad choice if somewhat on a budget.

Excellent! My wife and I checked into the "Hotel am Markt" on April 23rd/24th, 2022 for a short trip with friends. Check-in was absolutely smooth and quick, the staff at the reception on the 4th floor were very nice and accommodating. Our room (208) was very nice with a direct view of the Karlsruhe market square (pyramid). Thanks to the high-quality curtains, the windows could be completely darkened, which prevented us from waking up early in the daylight. The bathroom was also sparkling clean! So no signs of mold or other discoloration, which are often found in hotels there. Since the hotel is in a pedestrian zone, you can park in the "Schloßplatz" parking garage, which is a three-minute walk away, for a reasonable 8 euros per day. The hotel also impresses with its central location, so that everything you need in Karlsruhe can be reached on foot within a short time. If someone misses the breakfast offered by the hotel, there is a bakery right next to the entrance. New for us was a self-check-in machine at the entrance, which we did not need due to our online booking. ********************************************* Edit: We made good on our threat on June 18th, 2022 and stayed at the Hotel am Markt again. Here, too, checking in was absolutely problem-free and the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. This time our room was 204, which faced Karl-Friedrich-Straße. Once again, the room was in perfect and clean condition. Due to the summer temperatures, a column fan was also provided in the room, which we saw as a nice service. All in all, our impression of the Hotel am Markt was confirmed again. ********************************************* Repeat offender: We stayed at the Hotel am Park again on February 24th/25th, 2024. Booked in advance online, this time we checked in and paid using the machine at the entrance. Based on our experience from last time, we deliberately chose a room facing the "inner courtyard" for a small surcharge. Our room (this time 211) had a large and bright bathroom.

My son and I always go on city trips. The last time we went to Karlsruhe. Of course we were looking for a hotel. We found one at the Hotel am Markt. The hotel is very centrally located. You no longer need the car. You can explore a lot on foot. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, you feel comfortable and at home. I had a view of the market square. Great view. I was told that you could hear what was going on at the market square. I slept soundly and didn't hear anything. The room is also very clean, as is the bathroom. Towels, soap, shower gel, shampoo... everything is there. They also care about the environment here... there are toothbrush cups made of cellulose. Very good... A great room... 👍🏻 The breakfast is very extensive and absolutely delicious. The staff are really helpful and courteous. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.
