The Hoshino Hot Spring is relatively large and famous in Karuizawa. It is open to the public at the hotel entrance (free for hotel guests). There is a smaller hot spring inside the hotel. Hotel guests can go there at any time by pressing the password. I went there to experience it. There were few people and the feeling of comfort was beyond words. The hotel is conveniently located at the end of the commercial street of the old Karuizawa. I Like the cleanliness of the hotel. Room is spacious. The front desk staff could communicate in English. Good if you drive there. Else, it’s a distance from the train station. St Paul church is just opposite of the hotel. There’s also a Japanese shin nearby. There are good bakery shops nearby for breakfast. We were there on 2 weekdays and there’s not many people and not many shops open. The restaurant next to it serves good pasta and pizza. We had our 2 dinners settled there. Karuizawa is a beautiful place. You may have a morning jog nearby and it’s so serene running around.

Hotel is in a great location, about 700m straightline walk from karuizawa train station. Room is compact but you have everything and is clean, amenities are provided at the lobby and you can take as needed, such as toner, cleanser and cream, hair brush, toothbrush, there's even body scrub. There's drinks provided for guests, you can have tea or coffee at all times. Hotel breakfast comes in brunch menu, food is nice and fresh. There's a also a lot of restaurants along this street so not to worry.

I originally wanted to buy a wooden house in Xizizi, but the price doubled on Friday. So I booked this cabin with the same price on Friday and Thursday. It was already dark when we arrived at Karuizawa at around 5 o'clock. I followed the navigation guide and walked 1.4km. The first half of the journey was in the outlet shopping street and it was okay to walk around. The second half of the journey also passed through an express highway, then went up the mountain road and walked to the navigation office. I couldn’t find the store and there was no one there😹 because there was only a Japanese brand. At the end the shop owner came out. The cabin is very warm, has kitchen equipment (you should buy some food), and has a hot spring to soak in. The view is great when you wake up in the morning.

I stayed with my family. It was a perfect hotel for families with elementary school students. In the meal, there are many things that children like, and hungry children can eat to their heart's content. I was grateful for adults, not only for meals but also for all-you-can-drink alcohol, so I can drink as much as I like without making extra accounting. The bath has a large bath (of course the scale is small) The room can sleep in one bed per person and I am grateful to rest my tired body. Also, at the time of check-in, all the adult rates were set on the reservation site, but when I found out on the day, they fixed the setting and made it cheaper than planned! I want to use it again.
