This hotel is well laid out and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was fine and kept immaculately clean. The food was generally good. However, this hotel should be a place of relaxation for all, but the smoking policy, or lack of one, made it impossible to enjoy clean air on the beach, at the pool or in dining areas. Although there are a couple of non-smoking areas in the bar and restaurant area, non-smokers have to walk through smoking areas to get to them. The reception area is equally bad in this regard. For this reason I could not recommend this hotel to any non-smoker. This is a shame as this could be a really good hotel.

6 nights, 3 nights without air conditioning. In the morning the maintenance men came to "fix" it but couldn't fix it..even though one day he even snapped and threw water in the room and suitcase.. the so-called manager named AJIT did nothing about it, didn't even suggest changing the room...otherwise a useless man who blamed other things, e.g. food poisoning which my wife also got from the salad...said they can't prove it was caused by the salad, even though she vomited 2 hours after the meal... The food and beverage manager does his job well, points for that and also big points for the restaurant staff. The wait for the afternoon food at the pool bar was nerve-wracking. every time it was like an hour of waiting... a great hotel and great beaches+overzealous salespeople on the beach!

It's just so refreshing when you come to write a review and the positive words just keep flowing. This hotel is absolutely faultless from the very first interaction, making the booking with Antonie and his team, to our amazing workshop and conference in the incredible facilities, to the beautiful rooms (we were upgraded to the beach rooms on day two, and just wow!), to the impeccable meals overseen by the tirelessly attentive Scott from Scotland – what else can I say? It was perfect. I want to say a special thank you to Antonie for everything he did to make our stay and conference flawless. I'll definitely be back.

This is a wonderful resort that has an amazing pool, lovely beach, good food and super staff. Even when full there are lots of places to sit and plenty of pool loungers. The rooms are spacious with great air-conditioning and spacious bathrooms. It has a number of bars, and a lot of steps. Though you can access around the site on ramps. The entertainment is good. But could use a better sound system and be a bit tighter, some of the things go on a bit too long. Communication is not a strength of the hotel, information in the rooms is a bit all over the place. There is a board at breakfast about what's on, but it's not always clear where. The SPA is very good with good massages that are superb value. Internet is very good, so an app with what's on, offers etc would be useful. There is not a lot around, a row of shops next door in an alley, though you do get pounced on a bit! Food is all excellent with great choice. Avoid the cornflakes and frosties, the dispensers aren't sealed so the humidity really gets to them. We would recommend the hotel for a Zanzibar beach stay, but would add a stay for a couple of nights in a hotel in Zanzibar town which would add to the Zanzibar experience.

We had an amazing time at Ocean Paradise. There were 4 of us staying in adjoined seafront bungalows. The bed was too hard for me but very quickly after a request they had put a mattress topper on the bed making it extremely comfortable. Aircon worked very efficiently. All inclusive food and drink was fantastic. Great caring staff. Amazing swimming pool. Only down side for me is that I hate seaweed. I had to carefully tread my way through it but once past it the sea was beautifully warm. I would highly recommend staying here

Stayed here for 10 days after a week long safari adventure in Tanzania. This was the perfect place to recover, rewind and recharge. My cottage in the lush gardens was clean and comfortable and ideally located for beach, pool and restaurants but it was the outstanding service and food which exceeded all expectations. Smiles and hellos from all staff from gardeners, security, to reception, bar and restaurant staff all seemed genuine. They remembered my name and room number within 2 days and couldn't do more to help. A special mention goes to my fellow Scot, Scott. His enthusiasm, energy and all round good nature and friendliness with his staff and guests could not be ignored. I also recommend at least one massage in the spa. The African massage was very good.

Beautiful hotel in stunning tropical gardens. The hotel is immaculately clean & well maintained. The staff are all friendly & helpful. Special mention to Scott, Food & Beverage Manager, who is not only friendly & obviously very good in that role, but has a very caring & friendly rapport with his staff. The food is varied & very good quality, with international themed evening meal. Happy, Nancy & colleagues, you made mealtimes great.

Stunning hotel structured initially on a hill. The main building and bar areas are beautifully tiered to ground level. The ground level has many trees & bushes leading to the main restaurant, which is open air by the pool & on wards to their private beach. The food is varied for every meal & good quality. The dinner menu follows a worldwide theme each night.The rooms are rounded, including a unique arched bathroom, spacious & beautifully equipped. The balcony overlooks the gardens towards the beach. The staff are all friendly, helpful & conscientious. The evening entertainment is excellent with various bands playing while enjoying dinner. We have absolutely loved our stay at Ocean Paradise & would definitely recommend as a rest after safaris in Tanzania or Kenya.
