Sunseabar Beach Hotel Kendwa

Located on a stunning white beach with fishermen's boats outside the hotel, this hotel is a great place to plan your holiday exploring beautiful Zanzibar. An ample breakfast offers a stunning view from the rooftop straight over the whole beach area. There is a lovely lounging in the sun garden that runs straight onto the beach. There is a swimming pool with a coconut tree growing in the middle of it and the outside restaurant expands onto the beach with lovely on the sand dining. I drew the short straw and ended up in a room on the ground floor looking into an inner stairwell. So avoid the room called "Ukrain." Boat trips pick you up from the beach in front of the hotel. Sunsets on this beach are the best I have seen anywhere in the world with an incredible shadow of colours breaking up across the sky from mainland mountain peaks that look like the aurora borealis. There is such a lot of life on this beach in the evening with muscle men pumping up their bodies, jet skis and disco boats dancing around the bay with sundowners. The water is warm clear and perfect for enjoying the best evenings I have had on a beach anywhere.

The hotel is lovely, with great views of the beach while enjoying breakfast on the roof top. The restaurant downstairs served delicious food. The staff are very friendly and nothing was ever to much trouble, they were always willing to help. The manager and owner were very kind people, they made our experience one to remember ❤️

Terrible Experience Please Avoid!! Where to start. * Well everything start with the lack of management. The General Manager Ciara has NO people skills from horrific treatment of guest to bad treatment of the staff. She does not care and has NO interest towards accommodating guest. From dirty rooms to NO servicing of Rooms. You will find her always looking unhappy behind her laptop NO Greeting not even a smile and this bad attitude then unfortunately runs down to her staff. * Basin plug works with Isolation tape to open, 4 of the 5 days not hot water, Air-cons in most rooms do not work and Rooms smell mouldy. * Asked for cushions 4 times at reception had to sleep 1st night without any. Next morning had to go to General Manager to tell her where we were informed that she will need to check if they have extra. Even had to go back to fetch after she finally found some decent ones. * Towels even bigger issue, old dirty rundown. * Breakfast was terrible we tried twice but after 9am nothing are filled up and you will have to take the Scraps (looked like previous days left overs) * New Years no information given not even the staff knew. We celebrated at next door hotel. Best service best General Manager attentive and so accommodating. (Definitely not at SunSea bar)

Great hotel. Super staff. Nice breakfast. Staff are welcome. Mr Ahmed and managers are doing a great job. Will definitely come back again. Nice pool , good sea view. Ac working. Showers too. Everything felt great. Not far away from Kendwa rocks.

Got a room on the ground floor without a balcony. Informed the staff that we had paid for a balcony and were moved to another room. The reception staff were very helpful and understanding. Breakfast was okay. The water pressure in the shower was very poor—we had to sit under the faucet. The water stopped running several times, and the toilet often wouldn't flush. The staff took the towels from the room without having new ones available at the hotel. Luckily, we were traveling in a group, so we could borrow a used towel from someone who had received one that day. We also shared showers when there was no water pressure at all. Several chargers from our group were damaged during the stay. Some rooms had significant humidity and a strong smell of mold. The stairs were extremely slippery—this definitely needs to be addressed. The staff were always friendly, but unfortunately, this is the only positive thing I can say about the hotel. Will not recommend

Lovely stay in a paradise the place staright on the beach with amazing location and view , rooms are clean and well renovated , want to focus on the delicious food it’s really fresh and big portion , great value for money with a lovely staff service The spa is really nice
